Argyle. Born
December 2,
1913 in West
Hebron,
She
was the
daughter of
the late
Theodore and
Cora (Irwin)
Reynolds.
Mrs. Rea
graduated
from
Cambridge
High School
and attended
SUNY at
Cobleskill.
She was
involved in
the
operation of
the family
dairy farm
and was also
a homemaker.
She enjoyed
flower and
vegetable
gardens and
loved bird
watching and
reading.
Mrs. Rea
enjoyed
spending
time with
her family
and was a
member of
the First
United
Presbyterian
Church of
Salem where
she taught
Sunday
School and
was involved
in many
other
activities
including
the Martha
Hemphill
Women's
Circle and
the
Presbyterian
Women. She
was also a
4-H Leader,
a member of
the D.A.R.
and a member
of the Home
Bureau and
Cornell
Cooperative
Extension.
In addition
to her
parents,
Mrs. Rea was
also
pre-deceased
by her
husband,
Clarence G.
Rea who
passed away
November 4,
2006; a
son-in-law,
Leslie
Bardwell; a
sister,
Dorothy Bell
and a
nephew,
Theodore
Bell.
She is
survived by
her
children,
Nancy
Bardwell of
Salem, Neal
Rea and his
wife Carol
of Jackson,
John Rea of
Jackson and
Jane Gerling
and her
husband Rev.
W. James
Gerling of
Geneva, NY.
She is also
survived by
her
grandchildren,
John
Bardwell,
Sue Grant,
Sandi
Belisle,
Scott
Bardwell,
Thane Rea,
Travis
(Karen) Rea
and
Christopher
(Sage)
Gerling; her
great
grandchildren,
Hannah
Bardwell,
Calla
Bardwell,
Eric Grant,
Robbie
Grant,
Olivia
Belisle,
Cooper
Belisle,
Jordan
Bardwell,
Jacob
Bardwell,
Philip Rea
and Madeline
Rea and many
nieces and
nephews.
Funeral
services
will be held
at 11:00 am
on Monday,
June 8, 2009
at the First
United
Presbyterian
Church of
Salem, West
Broadway,
Salem with
Rev. Donna
Frischknecht,
Pastor and
Rev. W.
James
Gerling
co-officiating.
Interment
will follow
the service
at Evergreen
Cemetery in
Salem
