Laurie J. Peters

 Laurie J. Peters, 48, of Lewiston,ME and formerly of Cambridge, N.Y., passed away Nov. 8, 2005, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston.

She was born June 10, 1957, at the Mary McClellan Hospital of Cambridge to the late Lloyd and Margaret Conklin Peters Porter.

Laurie was the granddaughter of the late James and Ruth Thurber Peters and the late Henry and Winifred Conklin.

Laurie graduated from Cambridge High School in 1975. She later attended Mary McClellan Hospital School of Nursing.

She worked at the Putnam Memorial Hospital of Bennington, Vt., Mary McClellan Skilled Nursing of Cambridge and St. Mary’s Hospital of Lewiston, Maine.

Laurie loved the outdoors, watching birds at the feeder, walking on the beach and her special cat, Little 1.

Laurie is survived by her brothers, Larry “Nan” Peters of Bennington, Lloyd “Linda” Peters of Cambridge, Leland (Lucky) “Joy” Peters of North Adams, Mass; her sisters, Lodis “Kenneth” Rintoul of Greenwich, N.Y., and Linda Peters of Salem, Ore.; sister-in-law Donna Peters; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Joan De Hoog.

Laurie was predeceased by her brothers, Lane “Goat” and Leonard “Frank” Peters, and John Wilbur.

A memorial service will be held Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Cambridge.

Laurie will be laid to rest at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Cambridge with her beloved family that passed before her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society
