Frank F. Niles

Eagle Bridge:Frank F. Niles, 47, died early Monday morning, June 1, 2009 after a courageous battle with liver disease.

Born in Cambridge on Saturday, April 7, 1962, he was the son of Ernest E. Niles, Sr. of White Creek and Frances (Ruggles) Ormsbee of Bernhard’s Bay, NY.

After graduating from Cambridge Central School, class of 1981, Frank immediately joined the United States Army and served for three years in the Military Police. He earned citations as a Marksman and a Sharpshooter as well as other ribbons and medals during his service to his country.

Upon returning to the Cambridge area, Frank worked as a carpenter for Alexander and Wilson Construction and then for many years for Bruce McLenithan at Restoration Plus. He also “did his own thing” at Owlkill Brook Carpentry

Frank married Tami (Brugliera) on December 9, 1989 and in 1991 their son Alex Nobel was born. Frank always loved kids and he absolutely devoted himself to raising his son. He delighted watching Alex and his friends grow up together and forging friendships that he hoped would last a lifetime as they became fine young men. Frank coached Little League baseball for a number of years and he and Alex looked forward to “football” and “deer” season together every year.

Along with his wife, son and parents, Frank is survived by three brothers, Ernest E. Niles, Jr. and wife Donna of Buskirk, Daniel Niles of North Hoosick and Shane Niles and wife Heather of North Hoosick.

Along with his beloved nieces and nephews, he leaves a large and loving extended family of cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws, neighbors and close friends that all held a special place in his heart. Frank wishes you all to know that he was grateful and thankful for all of you, for it was because of all of you that his life was complete and satisfied.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Thursday, June 4, 2009 from 4 to 7 PM at Ackley & Ross Funeral Home, 73 West Main Street, Cambridge. There will be an American Legion service at 6:30 PM.

A funeral service, conducted by the Rev. William Waters, will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 10 AM. Burial with military honors will be at Rosewood Cemetery on Gannon Road in White Creek.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Capt. Maxson Post #634, American Legion, Cambridge, NY 12816.
