Adam Michael Nieckarz

 Adam Michael Nieckarz, 22, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Born Friday, April 4, 1986, in Cambridge, he was the son of Paul Michael Nieckarz of Cambridge and Jerri Sue (Wold) Mauran of Argyle.

He was a graduate of Cambridge Central School, Class of 2004, where he was on the wrestling and football teams.

Adam worked for the Army Corps of Engineers, first at the Troy Lock and Dam and currently at the Watervliet Arsenal where he was a rotary forge operator.

He liked hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and four-wheeling. He enjoyed refurbishing fiberglass and wooden boats. Riding motorcycles with his friends was his passion.

Adam was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church.

Along with his parents, he is survived by a brother, Paul Michael Nieckarz II and his wife, Toni, of Grafton, N.Y.; a niece, Jacey Nieckarz; two siblings, Brian and Jenna Mauran; maternal grandparents, James and Theresa Wold of Florida; three uncles: Richard Nieckarz and his wife, Lori, of Eagle Mills, Brett Wold and James Wold, Jr.; three aunts: Gina Lathrop, Carol Virtue and Theresa Hunt; many cousins and dear friends, Stanley and Carmela Butkus.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Ackley & Ross Funeral Home, 73 West Main St., Cambridge.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Liam Condon on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 17 South Park St., Cambridge.

Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery.

Adam was a wonderful young man who always had a smile on his face. A hard worker, he was always there when family or friends needed him. He will be greatly missed.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to St. Patrick's Church, 17 South Park St., Cambridge, NY 12816.
