S. Wayne Kenyon


CAMBRIDGE - S. Wayne Kenyon, 77, died peacefully the morning of Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at Pleasant Valley Adult Care Home in Argyle. He was the widower of Marilyn Lang Henderson Kenyon who died in 2006.

Born in Cambridge on March 8, 1933, he was the oldest child of Mark and Alice (Green) Kenyon.

After graduating from Cambridge Central School, Class of 1951, he attended Hudson Valley Community College and earned an associate degree in electrical engineering. He moonlighted as a television repair man and was proud of having repaired Norman Rockwell's TV.

He worked for General Electric in Syracuse for nearly 40 years. He and his family lived in Manlius.

He was a member and deacon of the Onondaga Valley Presbyterian Church.

Cars were his hobby and Jaguars were his passion. He was a member of the Central New York Jaguar Club and the treasurer for more than ten years.

When his health declined, Wayne returned to Cambridge to be nearer his family. He lived at the Cambridge Guest Home from May 2007-09, before moving to Pleasant Valley for his final days.

Wayne's sister, Marilyn K. Pemrick, died last November.

Wayne is survived by two children, Eric W. Kenyon of Randolph Center, Vt. and Kathy Dugas and husband, David, of Lowell, Mass.; a stepson, Scott Henderson of Fayetteville, N.Y.; three granddaughters: Shala Rousseau and husband Al, Cara Colon and husband, Jose' and Jessica Dugas; two stepgrandchildren, Arron and Ashley Henderson; four great-grandchildren; four siblings: Jane Keys and husband, Tom of Salem, Roxy Pemrick and husband, John, of Greenwich, Kay Walsh and husband, Edward of Kansas City, Kansas, Nick Kenyon and wife, Cate, of Cambridge; brother-in-law, Frank Pemrick Jr. of Lake George and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and great-nephews.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Friday, March 26, 2010 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ackley & Ross Funeral Home, 73 West Main St., Cambridge.

A funeral service conducted by Pastor Donna Frishknecht of the First United Presbyterian Church of Salem will be held on Saturday, March 27, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Woodlands Cemetery, Cambridge.
