Karen Hungerford Field
Karen Hungerford Field, 67, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center, Hoosick Falls, N.Y., after a brief illness. She was the widow of William Field, who died in 2005.

 Born Sept. 18, 1940, in the town of Easton, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Mary Brownell Hungerford. After graduating from Cambridge Central School, Class of 1959, she attended SUNY Cobleskill where she earned a degree in dietary studies.

 She and Bill were married on Jan. 24, 1970. Karen worked as a dietician for the Wappingers Falls Central School District at the John Jay School for more than 30 years.

 After retiring, not being able to stay idle, she worked at the Avalon Assisted Living and Wellness Center in Wappingers Falls for the last seven years. She attended the Poughkeepsie United Methodist Church. Karen and Bill enjoyed traveling in their motor home and were members of The Good Sam Club.

 Having been raised in the country, Karen enjoyed her weekend home at Pleasant Villa in Greenwich, N.Y. Karen loved her four-legged children, her dog, Fritz, and cat, Queen Bea.

She is predeceased by her parents and two siblings, Walter "Bud" Hungerford and Janet H. English.

Survivors include her sister, Marjorie Sutherland and husband, Richard, of Buskirk; brother-in-law, Bill English of Cambridge; sister-in-law, Penny Hungerford of Summit Lake; three godchildren, David A. English, Tora A. LoCoco and Tonya K. Brenner and several other nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Tuesday, Oct. 9, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ackley & Ross Funeral Home, 73 West Main St., Cambridge. The funeral will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m. with burial following at Woodlands Cemetery, Cambridge. The family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144 or the Hoosick Falls Health Center, 21 Danforth St., Hoosick Falls, NY 12090.
