Richard
Farries
Greminger,
M.D., 71, of
Leesburg,
Florida died
August 26,
2010 after a
long battle
with cancer.
Dr.
Greminger
was born
August 23,
1939 in New
York City,
NY.
When he was
ten his
family moved
to
Cambridge,
NY a small
town
upstate,
where he
enjoyed the
rest of his
childhood
growing up
on a small
farm. After
high school
he attended
Princeton
University
and
graduated
with the
class of
1961. He
went on to
graduate
from Cornell
University
Medical
College in
1965. He did
his general
surgery
training at
the
Universities
of Michigan
and
Nebraska,
and his
plastic
surgery
training at
the
University
of Miami. He
then began
practicing
in Albany,
New York
where he
practiced
for 12 years
before

He
had many
accomplishments

the
University
of Albany,
Board Member

Plastic
Surgery
Educational
Foundation,
along with
published
articles in
numerous
Medical
Journals,
but he felt
his biggest
accomplishment
was
volunteering
his talents
to the
repairing of
cleft lips
for well
deserved
children in
third world
countries in
South
America.
In 2005 Dr.
Greminger
and Sharon,
his beloved
wife of 23
years, moved
from South
Florida to
Leesburg to
enjoy a more
leisurely
lifestyle.
Now for
those that
knew Dr.
Greminger
"leisure"
was not a
word that
would best
described
him. So he
kept busy by
founding the
Republican
Club at
Legacy and
enjoying his
love for
sailing,
photography,
and
canoeing. He
also was a
loyal member
of
Southpointe
Baptist
Church of
Leesburg.
With a life
of so many
accomplishments,
Dr.
Greminger's
heart was
always
focused on
his love for
the Lord,
his wife
Sharon, and
all his
children and
grandchildren.
He was known
by those
that loved
him as man
of wisdom
and
character.
