Darlene Canzeri Morse

Darlene C. Morse, 62 of Cambridge, MD, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday September 18, 2010. She was born in Cambridge, New York on July 13, 1948, and was a daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy Frank Canzeri.

Darlene graduated from Cambridge Central School in New York in 1966 and attended Russell Sage College in Troy, New York. On April 25, 1969 she married Richard S. Morse. They spent many happy years raising their family in Queensbury, NY.

Darlene and Richard have made their home in Cambridge, MD since 1997. After moving to Cambridge, Darlene worked at a number of pre-schools in the area and found great joy in reading, singing, and teaching children. Darlene was affectionately known as “Ms. Dee” amongst the local children. She enjoyed gardening, long walks, traveling, bicycling along the Choptank River, reading, and completing crossword puzzles. Music was one of her greatest joys. Darlene loved spending time with friends and family, especially her five darling grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Richard S. Morse, Sr. of Cambridge, MD, two daughters Amy M. Frolish and her husband Peter J. Frolish of Schuylerville, NY, Megan M. Holthoff and her husband Daryl E. Holthoff of Cambridge, MD, one son, R. Schuyler Morse, Jr. and his wife Seema D. Morse of Silver Spring, MD, five grandchildren Sebastian Frolish, Christian Frolish, Ava Holthoff, Amelia Holthoff and Nikhil Morse, six sisters Jo Anne Crawford of Granville, NY, Victoria Canzeri of Cambridge, NY, Gwendolyn Hall of Johnsonville, NY, Beth Bell of Cambridge, NY, Virginia Munoz of Manchester, CT and Tina Canzeri of Cambridge, NY and many nieces and nephews.


A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday morning at Zion United Methodist Church in Cambridge, MD with the Rev. William R. Davis officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802 or to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network 2141 Rosecrans Ave – Suite 7000 El Sugundo, CA 90245. Arrangements are being handled by the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge MD.

A service of remembrance will be held at a later date in Darlene’s hometown of Cambridge, NY.
