Bennett,
known to all
as Clint,
89, died
peacefully
at his home
Sunday,
December 27,
2009
surrounded
by his
loving
family. He
was the
beloved
husband of
Helen
Mulligan
Bennett.
Born October
5, 1920, in
the Town of
White Creek,
he was one
of the sons
of Ernest
and Jennie
(Bowen)
Bennett.
After
graduating
from
Cambridge
Union
School,
class of
1939, Clint
worked for
the Town of
White Creek
where he
became the
Super indent
of Highways.
He was also
Street
Commissioner
for the
Village of
Cambridge.
He and Helen
were married
on July 11,
1946.
For 18 years
Clint and
Helen owned
and operated
Bennett’s
Corner Store
on the
corner of
East Main
Street and
Gilbert
Street.
During that
time, Clint
was also
Town Clerk
for the Town
of White
Creek. After
the store
closed,
Clint worked
part-time
for Peabody
and Bates
Construction
Company.
He enjoyed
hunting and
fishing and
was an avid
Red Sox fan.
Two
brothers,
William and
Harold, died
before him.
Along with
his wife of
63 years, he
is survived
by two
children,
Larry
Bennett of
Leominster,
MA and
Patricia
Harrison and
husband Mark
of
Cambridge,
four
grandchildren,
James
Bennett and
wife Rya,
Lauren
Bennett,
Ashley
Patterson
and husband
Jason, and
Jed Harrison
and
companion
Christina; 3
great-grandchildren,
Caden, Kara
and Jillian;
two
sisters-in-law,
Joyce and
Janet
Bennett and
several
nieces,
nephews and
great-nieces
and
great-nephews.
Friends and
relatives
are invited

December 30,
2009 from 12
noon to 1:30
PM at Ackley
& Ross
Funeral
Home, 73
West Main
Street,
Cambridge.
Michele
Ruland of
St.
Patrick’s
Church will
conduct a
funeral
service
beginning at
1:30 PM.
Burial will
follow at
Saint
Patrick’s
Cemetery,
Cambridge.
The family
