James
Allen
Aldrich,
56, died
Wednesday,
November
10, 2010
as the
result
of
injuries
sustained
in an
automobile
accident.
He was
the
beloved
husband
of
Deanna
(Wilder)
Aldrich.
Born
Friday,
December
18, 1953
in
Cambridge,
he was
the son
of
Walter
and
Joyce
Wadsworth
Aldrich.
He
graduated
from
Cambridge
Central
School,
class of
1972.
The
following
August
26, he
and
Deanna
were
married.
In
1974,
while
living
in
Florida,
Jim
joined
the
United
States
Army. He
began
his
career
as an
Aircraft
Components
Repair
Supervisor,
mainly
working
on
helicopters.
After a
few
years he
chose to
go a
more
humanitarian
route
and
became a
Medical
Specialist.
When he
took his
training
at Fort
Sam
Houston
he did
so well
that he
became
an
instructor
and
later a
counselor.
He
retired
as a
Sergeant
First
Class in
1994.
He
received
many
awards
including
the Army
Commendation
Medal
w/1 oak
leaf
cluster,
Army
Achievement
Medal,
Good
Conduct
Medal,
Overseas
Service
Ribbon
and
Expert
Field
Medical
Badge,
the
highest
honor a
Medic
can
received
in
non-wartime.
Jim and
his
family
lived in
Florida,
Germany,
Massachusetts
and were
living
in Fort
Hood, TX
at the
time of
his
retirement.
They
lived in
Arkansas
for
several
years
before
moving
to the
Cambridge
area six
years
ago.
Jim
continued
his
education
and
became a
Licensed
Practical
Nurse.
Jim was
currently
as a
private
care
nurse
through
CWI in
Queensbury.
His
kind,
patience
manner
made him
“an
angel”
to the
patients
and
families
that he
served.
Jim
might
have
looked
like a
rough
and
tough
kind of
guy but
he was
truly a
caring,
sensitive
man.
Several
years
ago he
gave up
cutting
his hair
until it
grew
long
enough
for him
to
donate
it to
“Locks
of
Love.”
He was
always
thinking
of
others.
An avid
hunter
and
outdoorsman,
Jim
loved
everything
about
nature.
He and
Deanna
were
communicants
of
Immaculate
Conception
Catholic
Church
in
Hoosick
Falls.
Along
with his
wife of
38
years,
he is
survived
by two
sons,
Daniel
C.
Aldrich
and
fiancé
Pamela
Dixon of
San
Antonio,
TX and
Joshua
J.
Aldrich
and
fiancé
Nichole
R.
Harrington
of
Hoosick
Falls;
several
siblings,
including
Carl
Aldrich
of
Ballston
Spa and
Terry
Aldrich
of
Warrensburg
and two
grandsons,
Seth
Strait
and
Corey T.
Aldrich
who was
the
light of
his
life.

Burial

military
honors
will

at 2 pm
at
Gerald
B. H.
Solomon
Saratoga
National
Cemetery
in
Schuylerville
.
Jim was
a
loving,
devoted
husband,
father
and
grandfather
and a
wonderful
caregiver
to many,
especially
his
grandson
Corey.
He will
be
greatly
missed.
