George Wright Class of 1917, my uncle and older brother of Olive W. Noteman and Jerome E. Wright. George died while a member of the US Navy training at Pelham Bay in Long Island Sound in December 1918. George was a victim of the Great Flu epidemic  that raged world wide during the First World War. George was just one of thousands of American boys who fell victim to this misunderstood disease that spread like wild fire through the ranks of young men crowded in ships and barracks before they could reach the fields of battle. His name is listed on the Wall in Memorial Park.
