With much sadness, I inform you of the passing of Adam
Michael Nieckarz, Class of 2004. Adam was only 22 years
old. I am sure his family and friends would appreciate
your prayers during this time.
Please note that I will be glad to put your personal
tributes on any tribute page whenever you want to send
it to me.

I will try to get the rest of them up
this weekend.
Also NEW:
The Bulletin Board. I hope this will be an addition
to the web site that will be a source of information and
a way for you to get messages to the Alumni.
Coming Soon:
"Bucktown" by Dick Record. Linda sent
me a piece written by Dick for Neil Wocell (before
Neil's death) about the gang from Academy Street. I
hope to get it on line along with a Tribute Page for
Dick this weekend also.
THANK YOU!!!!! I know I thanked the
Alumni Committee for all they did to make the Reunion
such a success. I want to also thank the SPOUSES of the
committee members whose help is priceless! Glen White,
Bob Currier, Tim Taylor and John Tully. Also a
volunteer, June Bell, Nelson's wife. Thanks for your
dedication
The Alumni Committee is always looking
for volunteers. If you are not interested in being a
"committee person" perhaps you would volunteer to be one
of the helpers. We need able bodied folk who are will
to help with some of the manual labor that goes along
with putting on these events.
Remember to check the web site often to
see what pictures I have been able to get on line.
Until next time,

was there. I always feel so much at home
there. Thanks also for allowing me to host
the 45th Anniversary Breakfast/Brunch/Lunch
for the Class of 1963 at your home. You are
the BEST!!
I have tons of pictures...all of which have
to be resized so I can put them online.
This may take a while so give me at least a
week. The calling for the Smoke Signals
Gang to assemble for a picture caused some
people to ask...Who in the world are
they??? Well, we are alive and well at
Would love to hear what you

T minus 40 days and
counting!!!
Did you get your
invitation? Have your responded yet???
This is going to be a great reunion and we
want you there!! The Reunion Committee is
getting every thing ready but they need to
know how many will be there.
The Friday Night Appetizer
Reception is now being hosted by the CCS
Student Council AND the CCS Faculty
Association. This is really very nice of
those involved at the school to get involved
with the alumni weekend. I hope many will
attend to show that we appreciate their
efforts.
If any class is
planning special activities, please let me
know so I can put your announcement on the
web site.
* The Class of 1958 has 50th
Anniversary Brunch scheduled for 10 am -12
noon . David and Pat Wilkie have invited
the Class of '58 to a reception at the
Cambridge Hotel on Friday night.
* The Class of 1963 will be
having a Brunch on Saturday Morning

Deb Lauver, Student Council Advisor has
created a form to passed out to the Senior
Class asking for their current addresses,
etc., what their future plans are, and
encouraging them to register on the
web-site. Thanks to Deb and Marge Ridder
for promoting the Alumni Association and the
web site.

A few weeks ago, Alumnus Robert King, Class
of 1953 passed away. Diane Jilek attended
his funeral and sent me this email. It said,
in part: The funeral was Monday. He was
buried in Granville. After a private
funeral service a huge party was held
(which was what he wanted). He was a big
Indians football fan and always made it to a
couple of the home games each year.
I made sure he was buried with an
Indians pin- he and I always had a good time
with me working at "his" school not being an
CCS girl myself. Aunt Audrey was quite
pleased that I brought the pin and with his
obit mentioning his fondness for CCS,she and
my cousins were happy to have it with him.
That touched my heart and I asked Diane if I
could share this with you. CCS has made
such an impact on our lives. Even, after
all those years, Robert was a true "orange"
CCS fan!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This week we mourn the passing of another
Class of 1953 alumnus, Anthony Rubino.
Prayers go out to both families.
The Red Rose list is the only tribute I can
make on line. Please help me with the names
of your relatives, friends, loved
ones....those who should be on this list.
We will have a memorial poster at the
Reunion.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We have had several alumni fill out the
questionnaire and now have pages on line.
Hope you will check out your class and
reunite with some of your classmates. Of
course, we have lots of alumni who keep
putting off filling out the questionnaire.
Right, Anne?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I guess you have seen that I have re-arrange
the furniture again. The main index page
has a new look. I found that is what it
takes some times for people to notice things
that have been there all the time. Have you
looked at the CCS Alumni Web Sites? It is
under the INDEX in the left hand column.
Scroll down to Special Features. The
newest addition is the Fuzzy Farm (Richard
Dumas, Class of 1975) . You need to check
this out.... And let me know if you went
Awwwwwwwwwwwww when you saw it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please, let me know if you have an idea for
the web site. If you have pictures,
stories, a web site, etc you want me to
post, contact me.

ANNOUNCEMENT: "Smoke Signals" has a
new home!!
We had to move again. The forum got very
slow and it became unbearable. Mick Kent
decided it was time we gave up on the 'free'
forums and has set up a new Smoke Signals at
http://smokesignals.olicentral.com/index.php
We hope you will visit real soon. You can
read it without registering but please do so
and post a message. Our new home also has a
Chat Room where you can chat with other
alumni in real time.

Hope to see you at the Reunion!!

75 DAYS UNTIL
THE REUNION!
Ok Gang...it is that time again!
The registration form is on line and ready for
you to print off and send in. Don't wait...do it
right away. Get yours in early. This would really
help the Alumni Committee who have been working very
hard in the planning and preparations for this
year's reunion. We are going to have a great
time!!!!!
Friday night festivities will be
at good ole CCS...Rain or Shine. The Student
Council will sponsor a 4 to 6 PM Appetizer
Reception for the alumni, current and
former teachers, bus drivers, cafeteria, custodial
and secretarial staff. From 6- 9PM there will be a
Alumni Party with a Dutch Treat Concession Meal.
Also planned for Friday night:
"Old Car Cruise-In" and at 7:30 PM a tour of
the school and the new bus garage.
Of course, Friday is also the 4th
ANNUAL ORANGE & BLACK SCRAMBLE . This year it will
be at the Hoosick Falls Country Club in Hoosick
Falls, NY. Tee-off is at 11 AM. AND....there will
be FOOD on the course!!! Now that is a good idea!!
Sign up for the Scramble
HERE
There is so much going on!!
The Cambridge American Legion is hosting a Memorial
Tournament in memory of all past commanders. Please
contact Nancy Kramer at the American Legion.
I have had to make some changes
in the web site because of the host company dropping
FrontPage extension. This means nothing to you but
it meant a WHOLE lot to me. My forms no longer
worked and the search page became useless. I have
been able to put up a new questionnaire form but
have yet to find a search engine program that will
search the entire web site. I am hoping the some
computer guru out there might be able to help me
with that.
Sally Smith has been helping me
with updating the Red Rose Alumni. We still need
your help in making as complete a list as possible
so we can put up a memorial of names at the
reunion. Please check your class lists and see if
we have red roses next to the names of those you
know have passed on.
Again I am asking if there is
anything you would like to see on the web site. Any
suggestions or comments.
ATTENTION CLASS OF 1963:
Is anyone planning to be at our 45 th Reunion Get
Together on Saturday Morning? Sure would like to
hear from you.
CCS
Alumni Cookbook
The CCS Alumni are
planning a cookbook. You can submit your favorite
recipe by December 2008. We’ll assemble the cookbook
early next year and have it available for sale at
the 2009
Reunion.
We want recipes for
your husband and your pet. Doggie biscuits and
homemade suet balls are as much in demand as baked
lasagna. We’d also love to get some of those secret
recipes from hunting camp.
Recipe cards are
available on the publisher's site (
www.morriscookbooks.com, click on Downloads), at
this year’s CCS Alumni Reunion July 18-20, or by
contacting Betty Jeskie White (518) 692-7561 or

SMOKE SIGNALS....have you signed up yet? Come
on now, we are having a good time but we need some
new input by you! We have several very loyal
posters who have kept this forum going. Please stop
by and check in on us. You can lurk if you want but
we sure would like to hear from you!!
The
~~~~~~~~
Personal note: I want to thank
those of you who have been my encouragement,
support, and prayed for me during this past Fall and
Winter of Poor Pitiful Pauline. I love each one of
you.
~~~~~~~~
You will be hearing from me more
often now that the Reunion is in sight...so you
might as well sit down right now and make out your
reservation...send it and a check in to the
committee tomorrow. That way the "hounding" I plan
on doing won't bother you.
I am getting excited about the
reunion. I bought my plane ticket in
January!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see y'all!
And, oh yes, Raz and Pam, will be
there July 17th...leave the light on, ok?
Until Next Time

January 3, 2008
Hi Everyone and a Happy New Year. I trust you had a Merry Christmas and
are now snuggling in for the Cold Snowy Winter in the North....tonight
we are doing that in the South also...but no snow.
First the sad news. As the Albany Times Union put it:
High School coaching icon Ken Baker dies You can
read the article
HERE
I will put the obituary on line as soon as one is published.
We started with a forum called Smoke Signals...and then we add a
different one called PowWow. Seems we couldn't get the 2 together
for several reasons...but this is one hard headed transplanted
Yankee!! After months of trying several different programs we have
come up with one that seems to please those who have signed in. The
address is not going to be published ...................You can read
it as a GUEST but to post you will have to register. If you would
like me to register for you. I will be glad to...just send me an
email
pauline@ccsindians.com Remember, we just moved in so I may be
moving the furniture around, change the colors and decor but soon
enough it will seems like home. Hope you will stop by.
There seems to still be some confusion about the newsletter mailing
list. I asked you to sign up on the new list for 2 selfish reason.
1st...it was easier and quicker for me to email the newsletter out
2nd. If, for some reason, I am unable to continue the newsletter, I can
already have a backup person with the authority to send out the
newsletter . No, I am in fine health now but it is always good to have
a back up plan. I am not going to go into all the technical problems of
sending someone an updated copy of my address book, having them transfer
it to their address book. and keeping it updated. I understand that AOL
has kept many of you from signing up on the new list and I will keep you
here on my computer. However...and this is not at all necessary....if
you would like to try and sign up on the new list, I would appreciate
it. If you have tried and tried and failed...please don't worry about
it.
The first planning meeting of the reunion committee is this Saturday
January 5h. We are still in need of alumni addresses. If we don't
have your address, please email
Mary Hallock.
If the committee can find a way to email the reunion info instead of
using regular mail, how does everyone feel about that? It would save
us a lot of work and postage.
That's it for now... Please stay in touch!
Pauline

Happy Thanksgiving to all. I hope this finds you
all well and thankful for your blessings. I know I am
very grateful that the Lord allowed me to be born in the
USA and to be a part of this wonderful CCS family.
I know this is going to be a sad Holiday Season for
Winnie Davis and Al's family and also the families of
Karen Hungerford Field. Our hearts and prayers go out
to all the families who have lost loved ones.
Please take a look at the
Tributes Index
If you have anyone you would like to honor, let me
know. If you would like to add a sentence or two...a
story, a picture to any of the existing tributes, please
send them to me. The latest tribute was made by Nancy
Shay Stefanovich, in memory of her brother,
Michael Shay,
Class of 1985
It is only 242 days until the Alumni Reunion of
2008!!!! The Class of 1963 will be celebrating the
45th Anniversary of our graduation. We are trying to
contact all of our classmates but we need help with
addresses. A list of the people we are missing is on
this PAGE
If you know any of these classmates or know how we can
get their address, please email me.
pauline@ccsindians.com
I know you are probably going to be very surprised that
I can be so brief............

saying...You are on the mailing list.....then
you are NOT!!
Only 105 people from my original list of

October 7th THIS IS THE LAST
NEWSLETTER
Did I get your attention? Yep, this is the last
newsletter from this address. I will not be sending
any more from

ensure delivery of the newsletter to your inbox (not
bulk or junk folders), please add @ccsindians.com to
your address book. If you did not get the email
This is a test of the Alumni Communications
Systems , then you are NOT on the new
mailing list. If you are not sure, please click
here and
sign up. ( I will reprint that newsletter at the
end of this one)
I know that some are you
wondering why I am messing with all this. It is
strictly for MY convenience. Yes, I am being
selfish here but I hope you will bear with me. My
internet server is getting tired of my bulk
mailings. I send about 20 at a time...there are 310
names on my newsletter mailing list. Even if you
can't do the math, let me tell you it takes a while
to send. Then the server balks and says no more for
another hour. I wait until I have enough news to
make a good size newsletter before I write one and
send it.
With this new set up... I will be
able to send little notices with 1 click and no
waiting!! Thus, when I have important news or
announcements to send you , I will do so, with no
problems.
I am truly sorry to inconvenience
anyone and I hope no one will drop off the
newsletter mailing list.

Elmer Dering sent me a link to a
great page.
www.navymemorial.org To
find Elmer, Click on the Navy Log button and then on
SEARCH Put in Elmer's name
There is a U S Navy Memorial
web site for any one to enter data (name, rank, duty
station and picture) of a former or current member
of the U S Navy. The person, family member or friend
can enters the information. Someone can go to the
site and enter a person name and see if that person
has been entered. You can try it by entering my
name.
I speak to former navy people
and not many are aware of the site. I thought of
you and your (our) web site and your great
e-mail list as a possible way of spreading the
word. I am not aware of the other branches of
the service having a similar site. If you can
spread the word you may hear from someone of
other sites.

Tales from Around the Teepee / Smoke
Signals; It has been suggested that these
forums should be combined... perhaps Smoke Signals From The
Teepee. The format would be that of Teepee as it seems easier to
post to than Smoke Signals. Let's discuss this!!!! Go to either
forum or both and let us know what you think!!!
We have a wonderful group WITHIN Smoke
Signals...we check in with the weather in our neck of the
woods. That is all that you have to say...but most of us Ole
Weathered Alumni have more to say then the temperature. Check
it out at
Smoke Signals... scroll down to the Weather topic
In the
Teepee, we have been discussing all sorts of stuff...The
bowling team in Beattles wigs, Cars of the 1950's and 60's.,
Kokomo Indiana, Vietnam War Reunion, Mick Kent, Raz Macauley
and ME!! , the problems at Meikleknox, CCS Football games, Civil
War battles, model railroading, the white horse and buggy, Karen
admitted she can't sing but Joe can see better. Earl Costello
remember the MGM Lion's visit to Cambridge..... WOW...and that
is not even 1/2 of it!!! Isn't it about time you stopped
by....maybe tell us what the weather is like where you live!!

Coming soon....how soon
I don't know but I will eventually get it done.....A
Cambridge Area Business Directory. I am collecting business
cards and pictures to make a page so we can remember what
the business used to be and what it is now. It might be fun
to see what age groups remember what business. This is FREE
advertising for the businesses. There will be links to
their web site if they have one. I thought this might help
us out -of- towners when we return for a visit.

Picture Time!!! Most of the Reunion Pictures are on
line. Tom McMorris took so many great photos!! The
original size and resolution are too big for web site
pages so I took the liberty of cropping them. You can
purchase the original on a CD from Tom at
McMorris Photos.
I still have more of Tom's pictures and the Scramble
pictures to put on line. Look for them to be added
within the next few days.
The Alumni Committee did a wonderful job with this
year's reunion and they are all ready starting on next
year's festivities! They would appreciate any
comments, constructive criticism, and/or suggestions you
may have. You can email them directly or I will pass
any emails along to them. If you would like to see a
change of menu, change of venue, additions, deletions,
more activities...anything you can think of....let them
know. We want each year to get bigger and better!!
Mary McMorris Bassett asked a question that she would
like others to answer. I think it would make a great
new page on the web site. The question: "What draws
you back to Cambridge?" This means literally and
figuratively. Some of you have NOT been back to
Cambridge to visit but the fact that you are reading
this newsletter proves you still feel some sort of
connection. Some of you may have left with no thoughts
of every returning...but there you are..........Some
have moved back to Cambridge area, some make yearly
trips to the Reunion, some participate in
Smoke Signals and
Tales From Around the Teepee, some
just read and never comment..(but you still are
interested!!) Send me your thoughts... if you want your
comments to be anonymous, let me know and I will
not post your name.
Lin Sternberg stopped by the Alumni Breakfast and talked
to me about publicizing the hosting of foreign exchange
students. Here is the email I received today:
Hello,
At the Cambridge High School alumni
reunion, we talked about alerting alumni to spread the
word about the opportunity of hosting a foreign
exchange student to attend the high school this year
sponsored by PAX. I received a new email asking if
there were any families that would host a German
student for a semester (5 mos. period). These students
will arrive shortly in the U.S. and still do not have
a host family. Could you send this information:
WILKOMMEN We need families to welcome and host a
German student in Cambridge to spend a semester in the
community and get to know our way of life. Please
phone Lin at 802 442-7189. Thanks so much.
Lin Sternberg
Please, if you think you might be interested in helping
out, call Lin !!!! Thanks
Again, I am going to ask that you check out
Tales From Around the Teepee. It
has become a great little community of CCSers and we
would love to have you join us. We have been discussing
the Cambridge we remember but that doesn't mean we are
not open to other subjects. If you are a younger
Alumni...maybe you can take these ramblings of the older
alumni and tell us what has replaced what we
remember...whether it be a place or an event. Maybe you
know the children or grandchildren of the old friends we
remember. Maybe you would just like to say SOMETHING!!
ATTENTION: CLASS OF 1963... Next year is our 45th
Anniversary and we are starting to make plans.
Please send your US Postal address or that of any of our
classmates that you might have. Contact as many
classmates as you can and ask them to email me. My
cousins, Raz and Pam Macauley, have offered their place
as the site for a Class Get Together.
Speaking of addresses: The Alumni Committee is on a
year long campaign to get as many alumni/former students
addresses as possible. Please....can you help?
AND...if you would like to volunteer to help/join the
committee, please do so!!!
Enjoy the pictures...
Until next time

I HAVE PICTURES!!!! Of course, you say....you were
all over the reunion taking pictures! AH..but you
don't understand. I had pictures and then I
didn't have pictures.
The full disc from my camera, was put in a "safe
place" and I started on another one. When I got
home....no disc....no where!! I contacted the
airports in Albany and Washington DC...of course
they thought I was crazy. I contacted the
airlines...I think they thought my perfume must be
too strong. I called Raz and Pam to check my room.
I emptied and shook every suitcase, backpack, purse,
article of clothing I had...several times. Then I
had Jerold check and check. This went on almost
every day since I have been back. You just don't
know....I was SICK!!
Can you imagine having to tell Mike Baratto that I
don't have any pictures of the Scramble? Trying to
convince my fellow workers that I actually did wear
a big HAT to the Saratoga Races? Telling my
grandchildren..Yep riding around in a PT Cruiser
Convertible.... I couldn't post much on Teepee or
Smoke Signals, couldn't write a news letter..this
was becoming Beyond Prozac Depressed!!! Are you
getting the picture? (Pardon the pun)
So tonight I go to get some thing out of my
purse...the purse that I have had nothing in but my
wallet since I have dumped everything out.... (at
which time I changed wallets)....this same empty
purse.. I look down as I reach for my wallet and
there in the bottom is that DISC!!!! Hallelujah!
People, I am here to tell you God is still in the
miracle business!!!! and the congregation stood and
shouted AMEN!
Do I have the pictures on line?...NOPE...not yet,
but I will have soon.
To those of you who were at the Reunion, would you
please email me any questions, comments, praise,
criticisms and / or suggestions you have that might
be helpful in planning next year's reunion. The
committee will be meeting this Saturday August 11th
so please get your emails to me as soon as you can.
I will forward them on...with or without your name
(as you request)
Tom McMorris took excellent pictures again this year
and he has graciously sent me the CD. I will be
putting them on line but they will not be the
resolution of the pictures you can get on your own
CD. You can still order them on line
HERE.
Honestly, I haven't been sniffing airplane glue... I
am just so relieved to have those pictures I
took!!!!!!
You will be hearing from me again, soon.

July 1, 2007
It's July 1st... 19 days until the Reunion and 1 day past
the deadline to register!!! Did you forget??
Awwwww...that's okay.... I am sure if you email or call one
of the committee members, they would be glad to get you
registered.
Hope you will come to the Block Party on Friday. A head
count is not needed for that except to help with those who
wish to join us in the concession meal (to help with food
supplies). Last year this was such a great time!!! Some
who couldn't come to the Saturday Reunion were able to stop
by on Friday night and chat. Some just continued the
stories from Friday to Saturday.
If you don't register in time to get a barbecue, there will
be the $5.00 membership/cover charge to help with expenses
of the appetizers. And don't forget the Sunday morning
breakfast !!!
Tom McMorris will be the photographer again this year and he
has made ordering the photos so easy!!! You know you are
going to get them so why not get the paperwork out of the
way BEFORE you get there. Just go to
http://www.mcmorrisphoto.com/ , print out the order form
and mail it in.
The Scramble has 14 teams
signed up but there is always room for more. Contact
Mike Baratto if you
are interested.
I am really excited about this year's reunion...I know it is
going to be a success and as much fun as the 2 past
reunions. I get to spend a little more time in the area
this year. Looking forward to making myself at home in MY
ROOM at Cousin Raz and Pam's . I also have a room at
Barbara Peters' Bed and Make Your Own
Breakfast....Argyllshire Farms' Homestead in Argyle. It
will be fun to check into "Pauline's Room." Planning on
spending a day "watching the ponies run" at Saratoga and
hope to visit with the old classmates in Queensbury and
Lake George.
The Teepee seems to be the place to be
lately. Even with some technical problems, Tales From
Around The Teepee has had some interesting comments about
the "days of yore". Any topic is welcome there (within
reason) If you have an announcement, question,
comment....please feel free to post it there.
That's it for now...
See you in 3 weeks.
Pauline

96
Days!!!!! Yep.... counting down to the Reunion...we are
down to double digits. Hope you are seriously making plans to
be there!!
New on the web site
CCS Alumni Remember Ken
Gottry( Class of 1968) has started a series of articles that
will be appearing in the local papers to help publicize the CCS
Reunion . He has graciously allowed the publication of the
articles and pictures on this web site. I added a page where
you can add your comments. These comments will go directly on
line for now...until the spammers find out there is a place they
can post their advertising. Hope you will stop by. If you
have any pictures that you would like to donate to Ken's
articles please email them to Ken at
Missing Alumni Not a new
page but one that is being used to find alumni whom we haven't
heard from in a long time.
Tributes With the
passing of Dorothy Rich,
I have received some grand emails in tribute to this fine lady.
I am hoping that others will want to put tributes on line for
other family, friends and classmates. You never know whose life
you may touch by remembering their loved ones. At last year's
reunion, I watched Carol Sterns Accetta beam with pride,
appreciative tears rolling down her cheeks as people remembered
her daughter Theresa.
Even if a lot of years have past, it is not too late to remember
those we used to know. Please email your tributes to me and I
will put them on line. Even if all you want to say is
"Remembering"
Invite someone to the Reunion Invitations to send to
friends...insert them into your emails...or ask me to send
them....OR... I will put up Special Pages for that SPECIAL
FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER who never seems to show up. Two pages
have already posted... Go to
Special Invitations
Don't forget to read the
ANNOUNCEMENTS and please feel free to ask to have your
announcements added to this page.
Thanks to all of you who email me with news, comments, ideas,
suggestions or just to say Hello.... I appreciate it!!!!
Remember 96 days!!!! See you at the Reunion
February 25, 2007
Hey there Fellow Alumni!
Hope those of you who are still in the throws of a cold and snowy
winter are staying warm and safe. Here in Mississippi, the
daffodils, known to the locals as buttercups, are up and ready to
start another Spring. Red bud trees are budding...but after the
winds last night I might oughta check. My daffodils may be in NYS
or at least the Carolinas!
Thanks to those of you who are helping with the Cliff
Walrath Memorial Golf Tournament. Nancy says that several alumni
have made donations by sponsoring holes. Again I will include the
notice I received from Nancy Kramer ....with her CORRECT email
address.
Last year fellow alumnus and American
Legion Commander Clifford Walrath died of cancer. He was a very
dedicated, hard working veteran. Clifford didnt get to see his
dream project completed, which was a building project to
upgrade Post #634 to become an emergency shelter for the community
In his memory the American Legion is having a fundraiser golf
tournament on Saturday June 16th to raise the monies to
accomplish Cliff's dream. They are looking for people to sponsor a
hole for the tournament. The cost of sponsoring a hole will be
$50.00 per hole. A plaque will be put at the hole you sponsor with
your information on it.
The American Legion would appreciate
any donation you can make to Cliff's project. Your donation will be
accepted at any time but please send your $50. donation for
sponsoring a hole to the address below by April 1st. If you have
any questions please feel free to call the number below or e-mail

One of the purposes of this newsletter is to keep you updated with
the news of fellow alumni. Sadly I have to report the passing of 3
CCSers.
Rodney Brownell
(Class of 1955) husband of Pearl Welling Brownell, passed away
on Feb 13th. There is a guest book set up at
http://www.legacy.com/Link.asp?IGB000086450595
Darlene Brownell Austin, Pearl's niece wrote and said that a
co-worker of Rodney's is making a memory book for Pearl which
will include post to this condolence book. Darlene asked; " Please
forward that website to anyone who you think might want to write
a memory story about Uncle Rod." If you
would like to contact Pearl, you may send her emails, in care of
Darlene at
jdaustin1@verizon.net
Fred Spear (Class of
1969) passed away in Newbury VT on February 15th. His sister
Dodi sent in the information for a tributes page.
Charles "Chuck" Cole (Class of 1960) passed away in December in
Dallas TX. I am sorry I have no other information.
If you would like to add a sentence or two...or more...of
tribute to any of the alumni who have passed on, please send
your sentiments to me. I will be glad to put them on a tribute
page.
Thanks to the new "signees" on the website. I am still getting
completed questionnaires weekly. It is great to see that news
of the website is still spreading and people are still
interested in keeping up with the Alumni. Several have sent
wonderful emails telling how wonderful it is to see that the CCS
Alumni have a web site. Again I say :
*This website only works because of you.
I need you to contribute information, fill-out the
questionnaires.... participate in the growth of
www.ccsindians.com
Also from the last newsletter: Smoke Signals...please don't
forget to sign in and join us in the fun. The Weather Group is
the most active but we have several topics. If you can't
remember your login and/or password, don't hesitate to email
me. I will be glad to help you get on the forum.
One news item on Smoke Signals that was greeted with cheers was
the announcement of the re-opening of the Cambridge Hotel !!!
We have some who "wax poetically" I heard some
birds singing today and it sounded so good. A sliver of a clear
moon hung very low over the Cambridge valley tonight as I left
town.
Some give us agricultural tips:
Strawberry farmers are staying up all night
waiting for that freezing point and then watering the plants to
put that protective ice cover on them
Or entertainment tips: Don't try to make your
guest feel at home. If they'd wanted to feel at home, they'd
have stayed there.
Some make social comments:
You know you are from California when your blind
date turns out to be your ex-spouse.
Occasionally there are comments
about local wild life
We also have quite a few pigeons, occasionally they even
sit on the feeders to eat, rather a funny sight. Unfortunately
we have also unwittingly fed a hawk. They seem to like pigeon.

And announcements from the Sports World
FINCH FIGHT !!!!!! A blur
of feathers, seeds going everywhere!! I love this cam!
We have
nutritional information
I bought a waffle maker and some special mix on Amazon.com.
Gourmet Chocolate is delicious if you substitute eggs and milk
for the water. I gained 10 pounds; there may be a connection.
Thanks to those who keep Smoke Signals
going. It is a wonderful place to visit!!!
The Alumni Committee is back at work, planning for this year's
School Reunion. One of the biggest jobs is finding a new
affordable sound system. The 3 day event will include the Golf
Scramble, Street Dance, the Reunion Get Together and Sunday
breakfast. If you have any suggestions and/or comments or want to
help with this years reunion, please contact the committee
Hope you are making your plans now to be there!!!!
There are 146 days until the 2007 CCS Alumni Reunion!
Until next time
Pauline
JANUARY 20, 2007
Hey there!! Hope the new year
is treating you well so far.
News from the website:
*Thanks for your Reunion 2005-06 comments and
suggestions. The Alumni Committee appreciates your help. If you
haven't spoken up yet but want to... go to
http://ccsindians.com/tell.htm
To keep the spammers from posting their trash, there isn't a link to the
comment form on line.
*Special thanks to the alumni
of the 1990 decade! You have been filling out and sending in the
questionnaire!! Of course we are still missing a lot of you but whoever
is getting the word out about the website....KEEP IT UP!! Now the rest
of you have got to get busy and get your classmates to fill out a
questionnaire.
*Another SPECIAL thanks to
the Cambridge Historical Society. Marjory Ridler sent me the new
calendar!!! Oh my, what a wonderful surprise and the calendar is
absolutely fantastic!!! Email
Marjory and order on for yourself.
*This website only works
because of you. I need you to contribute information, fill-out the
questionnaires.... participate in the growth of
www.ccsindians.com
* Greetings from the WEATHER
GROUP !!! We are having a great time on
Smoke Signals.
There is a topic called WEATHER and over 1000 post have been made with
over 6300 views on 68 pages. You can post anything here but it must
include a weather report from your area. It is a lot of fun. If you
have forgotten how to get into this forum...email me.
* Another page we are having
lots of fun with is Mick Kent's ( 1960)
BIRDCAM. Mick lets us watch
the birds that come to his bird feeder in Spencer TN. Having a
stressful day... tune into the
BIRDCAM....amazing what a welcome site it can be. And you never
know when you may see Mick waving at you while he fills the feeder. A
discussion about Mick's project is on Smoke Signals under the topic PETS
*2007 is a special year for several of the alumni
classes. Some classes are already planning events to make
their anniversary year truly special. (Some are actually a year ahead
and planning for 2008!) If you are trying to co-ordinate an event,
please send in your information so it can be posted on the website.
Jane Wright is heading up the Class of 1957 reunion (50 years). You
can find information about your special anniversary year at
http://ccsindians.com/Announcements/specialreunionyears.htm If you
need my help, please let me know.
*The Alumni Committee has
started meeting for the purpose of planning the 2007 School Reunion. If
you do not know who is on the committee, the names are listed on the
opening page of the website. www.ccsindians.com.
They have asked if anyone is interesting in helping with the Street
Dance-Cruise In and other Friday night activities to please let them
know. Remember if you have any suggestions you can contact the
committee or go to Comments and
Suggestions page.
*Speaking of comments and
suggestions, it has been suggested that the website include spouses of
alumni who have been "adopted" as alumni. I can think of several who
have become actively involved in the School Reunions. If your spouse
is one of these people...please have them fill out a regular
questionnaire and in the comments state whose spouse they are.
Perhaps you can help me with a name for this section. I have thought of
"Married into the Family"
*I received a tribute for
an alumni who had passed away. Just a few lines and it was unsigned
but I can't get it out of my mind. What a wonderful thing to do,
what a nice way to remember a friend. If you want to put some
words of tribute on line, please email them to me. Write as much or
as little as you want. You don't have to sign it...and even if I
know by your email, who you are, I will not put your name on the
tribute. OR... it would be nice to put your name on with your
words. Click
HERE
to read the tribute.
Another beautiful Tribute was sent in by Carol Stearns Accetta
(1963) for her daughter
Terri Galvin (1976).
*COMING SOON: Special
Invitations for Special People I am working on
invitations that can be sent anonymously (or not) to family,
friends, classmates, and /or teachers . The idea came from Chops
Davis (1959) at the 2006 Reunion. He has family member whom he
would like to see at the 2007 Reunion but figures it will take more
than a "casual in-vite" to get him there. These will be emailed or
you can print them off and send them in regular mail. I hope to
have a selection on line in a few weeks. Again...any suggestions are
appreciated. Stay tuned to
ANNOUCEMENTS
* Please start making plans now
to be at the 2007 School Reunion in July. If you are on this
mailing list, you can NOT use the excuse..."I knew nothing about
it" ( Are you reading this, JOHN ?)
There are 182 days until the 2007 CCS Alumni Reunion!
See you there!!!!
Pauline
PS....It is always nice to receive a response to the
newsletter..even if all you say is...Got it. Thanks
November 23, 2006
HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM MISSISSIPPI !!!
Today, as we give thanks for the many blessing the Lord has bestowed on us,
I count good ole CCS as one of my blessings.
Even though we may have thought so at the time, Cambridge Central was a
good place to spend our childhood. When I look around at the troubles of
the world today I thank God for Cambridge and CCS. Critics may say that I
was shielded from the real world but I am thankful for the time I had to be
a child. I am grateful that I felt very safe at school and in the town,
that I was not afraid to walk down Main Street after dark, that I knew most
of the adults and they knew me and/or my family.
Yeah, yeah, yeah...I know the younger ones think .....just the ramblings of
an "aging" woman, trying to feel young again. Good grief.... it was only 12
years or so out of her life.... Can't count for much.
Poppycock, I say!!! and I can prove it. The CCS Indians website is still
active...not because of me but because there are a lot of CCSers out there
who are interested. The CCS mailing list is over 300 people!!!!! And have
you been to a School Reunion??? We flock back to Cambridge in droves!!!
Are we trying to recapture our youth? Maybe. So what?? Apparently it was a
memorable time in our lives or we wouldn't want to go back. The years have
made it a level playing field. Regardless of what you have done with your
life since school you are still a CCSer as is everyone else at the Reunion.
That is what I love about getting together....no one puts on airs. If they
did, someone would be quick to say..Oh I remember that time when.........
Being sentimental? Yep, big time!!! On this Thanksgiving as I count my
many blessings, I name my CCS family...thanking God for the lasting
friendships, the rekindling of old friendships, the new friends and the NEXT
School Reunion in July 2007.... Only 240 days away.
Happy Thanksgiving !!!!!!!!!
Pauline
August 22, 2006
Finally!!!! Reunion pictures are on line!!!
http://www.ccsindians.com/Reunion2006/Scrapbook/index.htm.
Thanks to Tom McMorris and Ray Purdy for the pictures. If anyone
would like to share their pictures, please let me know. I haven't
gotten the golf pictures up yet but hopefully by this weekend, I
will have them on line also. Take a look at the class
pictures...can you give me the names of the people in your class? I
sure can use the help. Also double check and make sure the names I
do have are correct.
This is not only for the serious stuff but for fun stuff also...
Bulletins, if you like.... Birth of a new baby... Wedding
announcements. You can wish someone Happy Birthday or
Anniversary.......Any thing you want the alumni to know. Some news
just can't wait for the next news letter!!!!! And before any one
tries.... "news" about other people will have to be verified before
it goes on line. Sorry, no practical jokes :-)
I have not heard anything officially about the benefit for Cliff
Walrath but some of those who attended said it was a big help to
Cliff. Please keep Cliff in your thoughts and prayers. He would
enjoy receiving cards, letters, notes... ... I am not familiar
with the situation involving Bradley Baker. If you can give me any
information, updates, etc, please let me know. Please check out the
Announcement section.
The Teachers Section is still "Under Construction" . Hopefully,
more people will help get the information in so this section will be
a nice tribute to those who taught us.
Please visit the Index
http://www.ccsindians.com/... Take note of the people involved
in the Alumni Committee...there is plenty of room for more names.
Get involved!!! If you are not residing locally, why not volunteer
to help get in touch with people in your class or any alumni. Call
them, write them, email them.... Tell them about the web
site.....Ask them to sign up for the news letter, send in a
questionnaire! Several classes will be celebrating special
anniversaries next year. Get the word out so your friends and
classmates will schedule time to attend in July 2007.
Did you attend the Reunion? Got any comments, observations,
suggestions??? Email them to a member of the Alumni Committee or,
if you want to stay anonymous, send your email to me and I will
forward the information without your name. Again, thanks to everyone
who made the reunion such a great success!
....
Sure would like to hear your suggestions for new sections on the web
site.
Until next time

WHAT A REUNION!!!!! This is a hard email to write because I don't know
where to start. Everything was absolutely wonderful. The first thing
this Southern gal noticed was the fresh air...I could actually
breathe!!! Low humidity, low temps...just perfect.
It rained on the way to Windy Hills on Friday for the Scramble but it
ended quickly leaving us with a beautiful day. 68 golfers
participated. Mike Baratto ('62) did a great job of putting the Scramble
together again this year!! It was great to see the women out there this
year. Mary Bates Muckle ('59) should be proud of the tradition she
started last year. We missed Mary this year and wish her and her
husband the best. Congratulations to Karen Dusha McKean ('66). Her
first time in a golf cart and yet she got us safely around the golf
course. We had some close calls but I am not telling...are you,
Karen? Karen and I had so much fun and got the giggles. Now for those
of you who do not play golf, this is definitely not the correct
etiquette. So, on behalf of Karen and I, let me offer our sincere
apology to those whose game was adversely effected by our
joviality. Karen and I know nothing about golf but we learned a lot on
the golf course. We had heard of tee shots, strokes, putts, etc but had
never had heard of the Nennstiel Free Throw. Now many of us have
cheered for the Duke ('57) at basketball games...in complete awe of his
long-armed skills...but I never knew that he could translate that
impressiveness to the golf course. You were allowed to stand where the
ball had landed and give it a free throw. No where did it state that
you had to be STANDING so Duke laid down, reached out to the cup and
drop the golf ball.....Yeah, 2 points!!!! Congrats to this year's
winners: Marco Furforo, Doug Luke, Steve Luke, Tom Luke
From the golf course, we went back to Cambridge to join the festivities
at the Street Dance. What a marvelous addition to the Reunion
Weekend!! Hotel Street was closed off and several had their old but
beautiful cars on display. Sally King from King's Bakery and the Lion's
Club offered a grand concession stand. I know they dished up plenty of
hamburgers, hotdogs, sausage and all the "fixin's". John Cullinan ('69)
provided the music. He is a great DJ !!! Several times, some of us
got out in the street and danced. I loved to see the smiles, hear the
laughter and squeals of old friends finding each other again. I had the
extreme pleasure of meeting people I had e-mailed over the year . What
a joy to hear how much they enjoy the web site...how they have gotten in
contact with old friends, how the "Cambridge Spirit" have been revived
in them. Everyone was having such a good time, they had to keep
blinking the lights to get us to leave!
Saturday morning was dismal.....OH NO!! The rains cometh!! My heart
sunk but I knew the Alumni Committee even had that under control. Sure
enough, when I got there after breakfast at the Burger Den, there they
were busily putting up tents and getting ready for the big event. The
smiles and laughter were still bright and I thought....nothing can spoil
this!!! I heard some one quote from the movie..."If you build it, they
will come" and they did.... some 357 of them!! I can't give you the
names...the oldest...who came the farthest or any of that right now. I
am sure some one will send me the stats but I can tell you it made no
difference what class you were in, we were all members of the Great CCS
Family. I am so blessed to have come from such a wonderful place. The
rain did not dampen any one's spirit, did not drown out the laughter,
did not wash away the smiles....(it did do a job on my hair !!!!)
Again John Cullinan did a great job with the music. The food was
great...thanks again to the American Legion. I was able to give out a
Rienzi T-Shirt to the winners of the Newsletter Contest. Cathy Hallock
McGuire('69) also got a magnolia coffee mug for 1st place. Ann Theissen
('60) and June Johnson Lawrence ('61) came in 2nd and 3rd. Thanks to
everyone who participated in my little contest. The Class of 1966 had 21
classmates celebrating their 40th Year Reunion. Everyone could tell
they had a big time!!!
Another wonderful addition to this year's reunion weekend was Sunday
breakfast at the American Legion. Almost 120 people met again for more
laughter and fun over a grand breakfast!!!! What a treat that was!!
Saying goodbye was difficult but we all had to agree this was a
fantastic weekend. There were a lot of "See you next year."
Ok. that is a run down on the weekend, now it is time from my personal
notes. I want to make sure that everyone knows that I do nothing in
putting on this weekend . The Alumni Committee does everything and it
is not an easy job. I doubt you heard any one complain though, they
just quietly did what was needed to be done and the rest of us were
rewarded with a wonderful, wonderful weekend. If you live in the
Cambridge area, perhaps you should think of being a part of this
committee. It would make the task a lot easier on everyone. Presently
the Alumni Committee is made up of: President Dick Record (1959) Vice
President Betty Jeskie White(1955); Secretary/Treasurer Linda McMorris
Record (1959). Active Members Linda Lufkin Taylor (1962) Pearl Welling
Brownell(1953) Beverly Thomas Currier (1958) Mike Baratto (1962)Patricia
McInerney Culver (1958) Ken Gottry (1968) Mary Hallock (1976)
Even though they did not want public acknowledgement...I must say a big
thank you to the Committee for my plane ticket. I am so grateful for
all you did for me. Words can not express how blessed I am. To be able
to come home at such a special time means the world to me.
The web site is a labor of love. I am rewarded almost daily by your
emails. I am so humbled by the comments I have heard. Remember, you
are what makes the website work..so please contact family and friends
and encourage them to fill out a questionnaire.
Tears still flow as I remember my great time in Cambridge. Cousins Raz
and Pam Macauley and Bethany made me feel right at home. What
wonderful people they are and I am so proud to call them family. The
temps were perfect !!! The air is so crisp in the mountains, the green
beauty of the landscape, the beautiful gardens such a wonderful array of
flowers, the blue spruce and white birch trees everywhere. Everyone
was so kind to me, so gracious, so appreciative of the web site... I
felt so very special. There is something about Cambridge, even though a
lot of us have moved away, when we get back there, it is still home.
Years and distance may separate us but for one weekend out of the year
we are together again...acting like teenagers!!!
Pictures will be put on the web site soon. These pictures will not be
as high a resolution as the ones taken by Tom McMorris at the reunion.
The website pictures will not be of the quality to make prints from so I
suggest if you want great photos please order them from Tom. If you
couldn't make it to the reunion, you will enjoy the CD of pictures.
Words can not express what a wonderful time I had. It was so hard to
leave. But.... Lord willing....there will be next year....and it is
only 356 days away!!!!!!!!!!
Keep in touch
Pauline
July 7, 2006
First, our sympathies to Bev Thomas
Currier ( Class of 1958) in the passing
of her mother Ethel on Wed. July 5th.
Funeral will be 11 AM on Friday July 7th
at the Flynn Bros Funeral Home in
Greenwich. Calling hours are from 10 AM
to 11 AM prior to the service.
If you are not going, please send a
message to the reunion by sending me an
email. The emails will be posted at the
reunion
King Bakery's Sally King and the
Lions Club plan a wonderful
concession for the street
dance. Dinner platters with a
selection of either hot dogs,
hamburg, sausage along with baked
beans and potato salad; or as ala
carte items and famous "King Bakery"
desserts. mmmmm good!!!
Please go through your class
pages and let me know which ones
have passed away. I want to put
a tribute on line for them and
the Alumni Committee wants to
put their names on a Memorial
Poster.
Peg Schmitt Hunt has used the
Tributes page as a way to honor
her brother, John who passed
away in 1974. I hope you will
take a look at this list and
read the special tributes.
http://www.ccsindians.com/SpecialPages/tributes.htm
See, I can be brief!!!!!
See you at the Reunion
June 27, 2006
Hi, it's me again. I got an email from Tom Dempsey and
he asked to be remembered at the Reunion to the Class of
1955. That gave me an idea.
If you can not make this year's reunion but would like
to say something to friends, class mates, etc, how
about sending me an email. You don't have to say
anything to me, just write something to those at the
Reunion. These emails will be printed out and displayed
at the Reunion. You can write volumes or just a simple
hello. Remember sign your first AND last
name....Ladies, maiden names would help. In the subject
line put: Letter to the Reunion. You may want to
include where you are living now. Hey, you could do
this even if you plan on being there!!!! Come on
now....send in those emails. I can take an extra
suitcase if needed.
Hoping to hear from you REAL soon!!!
Pauline
June 25, 2006
I do declare, y'all should be fixin' to git 'er done!!!
Git those li'l ole registrations in quick!!!
Hey...after 24 years in Mississippi, I think I got
it!!!... I like to imitate Scarlett but I really am
more like the redneck Jeff Foxworthy talks about. Back
to the subject...........ONE MONTH UNTIL THE
REUNION!!!! Please, get your registrations in....we
want to see you in JULY!!!!
The 2nd Annual Orange and Black Scramble is boasting 16
teams. That is double from last year. There is still
room for more but you will have to get in your
registrations very soon. A
Calloway Golf Bag, valued at $ 125.00 will be
raffled off at the Scramble.
Lots of you have registered for this year's reunion.
Some of you are waiting until the last minute. And I am
sure there are some of you who haven't made up your mind
yet. Following is the newsletter I mailed out after
last year's reunion. Perhaps this might help you decide
to be there.
If you missed the CCS
School Reunion on Saturday, all I can say is MAKE PLANS FOR
NEXT YEAR!!!!
Mark your calendars...the next School Reunion will be July
22, 2006...the 4th Saturday of July. I am in the process of
collecting photos AND comments about the reunion. I am
counting on everyone to supply lots of both. If you don't
have pictures, then please share with us your thoughts,
comments, suggestions, memories...anything!! I will not
give your name as author of any comments, without your
permission.
The reunion was
wonderful and a total success. The committee did an
incredible job!! I don't think I have ever been more
honored. I thank everyone for their wonderful comments on
the website. I wouldn't trade this weekend for
anything...It will always be a precious memory.
If you were there, I
am sure you heard: "It has been years!", "It is GREAT to
see you again.", "You haven't changed a bit", "Wait a
minute...you look familiar", "You weren't bald in High
School, were you?" and the one that took me completely off
guard as it was whispered..."Do you remember that night on
Colfax?" and before you think any further.....NO! I don't
have any night on Colfax to remember!!! Some people have
great senses of humor!!!!
As you passed by
tables or groups of people, sometimes you would hear low
voices and then shrieks of laughter as an old memory was
remembered. Men, who once were a part of CCS sports teams,
were discussing games and scores, remembering plays and the
buzzer beaters. The CCS spirit was still alive in their
hearts...and the competitiveness had not diminished. It was
not just organized sports.. backyard ball, one on one,
Wiffle ball, ice skating, sliding down hill, parties, lake
dances...all were discussed. Special moments were brought
back to life. The singing of the Alma Mater was
wonderful... chills up the spine wonderful. And several of
us former Cheerleaders went right into "T-E-A-M, yeah
Team"... It was automatic!!!
Even if you could not hear anything...if you just saw the
hugs, tears, smiling faces, twinkling eyes, hand shakes,
pats on the back, you would know that this was magical. It
seems like every face seemed so much younger when they left
than when they arrived. I love the sound of laughter! and
the sound of old friends getting together again is a
fabulous sound. I will remember the First Annual CCS School
Reunion for a very long time
Thanks again...and
please...let's hear from you!!!!!
Pauline Rogers Nash
Proud to be a member of the CCS Class of 1963
I know you all have had one of the following
thoughts...Oh no, I have gained weight...I have aged
so.... I didn't live up to my expectations...No one will
remember me....I don't remember anyone...I hated
school...I am not the same person....It will be so
phoney...I don't have any memories I want to relive.....
No one wants to see me....and many more. Well, you
are probably right. HOWEVER.... all of those reasons
mean absolutely nothing when you get there!!!! It was
so much fun!!! I am going to ask those of you who were
there last year to send me a line or 2 (or more) about
your time. Tell about your apprehensions and how
everything worked out. I will put them all together and
send out another letter next weekend. If you are in the
contest...this is a 25 pointer. Let's encourage others
to be at the reunion.
Thanks to the new questionnaire-filler-outers..(paulinism)
We have several new personall pages up including the
first member of the
Class of 1986!! This is their 20th Anniversary and
no word that any of them will be there!!!! Such a
shame. The Class of 1986 is not the only class with only
1 person registered. Check out your class roof and see
if you can do something about that. If you are a
frequent visitor to the
Index of Personal Pages, please click reefresh so
you get the latest version. This is the same for the
Who
Is Registered page.
Our sympathies and prayers go out to the families of
James Joseph Rubino (Class of 1956) and Frieda Brown
Jakobe (Class of 1946). These 2 names will be added to
the Memorial Poster to be displayed at the Reunion.
Please check out the Class Pages and see if you can help
with names that should have a red rose next to them.
The first paragraph does not count in the contest!!!
There are other missspelled words and 1 hidden word.
That's it for this time
See you soon

Yaaaahoooooooooooo!!!!! 52
more days!!!! Actually 50 more for me, as I will be in
Cambridge on
July 19th. I have met some of the most
wonderful people through the website and I am so anxious to
see all of you again
some for the 1st time.
Isnt it wonderful that a common thread, Cambridge NY,
has brought so many of us together?
I want to start this news
letter with condolences to the family of Paul Skiff. Here
is what his son Dave, wrote in Smoke Signals
He
passed away Friday May 12th 2006 at 6:20 PM of a stroke at
the age of 82. He was buried at the
Gerald
B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery with military honors; it was a
beautiful ceremony. My dad served in the Marine Corps as a
demolitionist at the end of WWII and just happened to ride
aboard the same ship I served on during Vietnam (USS Midway
CVA-41) an aircraft carrier; now a museum in San Diego, CA.
My dad was a very quiet man and on his stone we requested
these words - "Quietness was his strength".. Perhaps some of
you remember him from his route driving an Ice Cream truck
delivering ice cream, meat and eggs around the
Cambridge area.
Because of our large family he worked 2 jobs most of the
time while we were growing up. His "full time job" was truck
driver for Texaco. He received an award for driving over 1
million miles without an accident. As you can imagine
driving a tanker full of gasoline is a dangerous occupation.
As my brother Gerald said during our time together last week
- "You will never find anyone who had a bad word to say
about our father!" For the past 8 years he had been
suffering from a series of minor strokes that had taken a
toll on him both physically and mentally.. He was a man of
respect, integrity and character - much loved by his
family.. May he 'rest in peace' in the arms of our Savior!
Dave..

Tragedy has struck Alan Bell ( Class of 1963) and family
with the death of his sons, Alan and Nathan. I know that I
speak for lots of people when I extend the deepest
sympathies to this family. It is so hard to loose a loved
one but you never expect to outlive your children. I can
not even begin to understand the grief. There is a
memorial page here. Tributes

Word from Jason Kozoil:
Hello all!
Just a quick update on whats
going on with the Team in Training ride. The ride is on
Sunday, June 4th in
Lake Tahoe, NV.
The team will be headed out there Friday morning and we
cant wait! Weve all been training since the end of
January. I have ridden more than 1300 miles during my
training! To give you a small visual
it is just less than
1300 miles from Orlando, FL to Boston, MA! Im hoping that all this training will pay
off! We dont have any comparable hills around here in
Southern GA or Northern FL
so the terrain out in Tahoe will be quite
different. But I think that Ill prefer the hills to some of
the wind that we get around here. I will be sure to email
out an update once the ride is done
please give me a few
days to recover though. Ill also send out pictures if I get
any!
On another note, thank you to
all that have donated! The money is going to a great cause!
If anyone would still like to donate, its still not too
late! I ask that if you would like to donate, please do so
soon. The deadline for donations is July 4th.
Online donations can be made up until that date, by going to
http://www.active.com/donations/fundraise_public.cfm?key=tntnoflJKoziol.
Checks made out to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society should
be sent to me at
132 Woodvalley Drive,
Kingsland,
GA 31548, within the week since it takes a
couple weeks to process the checks. Additionally, if you
would like more information on Team in Training or The
