Timothy L. LeBarron

 

Poestenkill - Timothy L. LeBarron, 72, died Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a brief battle with brain cancer.

Born and raised in Cambridge, NY, Tim was the son of Marilyn Chapman LeBarron and the late Loren Sales LeBarron. He graduated from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh in 1974 with a Bachelor's Degree in Organic Chemistry.

He and his wife Debora (Sweet) LeBarron celebrated fifty years of marriage on July 20, 2024, and resided in Poestenkill since 1977, where they raised their son Jamie.

Tim was an environmental chemist and quality assurance officer for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation when he retired in 2017. His duties included the interpretation and application of regulatory and legal requirements for the remediation of contaminated water sites statewide. He also served proudly, for many years, as both a shop and union steward for the members of the Public Employees Federation.

Tim was a lifelong champion of Boy Scout Troop 528 of Poestenkill, serving as a merit badge counselor and in several leadership positions. He was a versatile musician playing multiple instruments, enjoyed family camping trips, woodworking and gardening.

Survivors include his wife, mother, and son, Jamie (Ana Santa Cruz); two sisters, Justine (David) Larado and Dianne Fore, as well as nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 4392 NY150,West Sand Lake on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 1-2PM with a service to follow at 2PM with Pastor Clyde McCaskill of the Hoosic Valley Community Church, officiating.

A private interment will be held at a later date.
