Roland "Rick" Young, Jr.

 

Cambridge-Roland “Rick” Young, Jr., 68, of Plains Rd, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation at Hoosick Falls.

Born in North Adams, MA on July 23, 1952, he was the son of the late Ruth Rhodes and Bill Young.

He received his education at the Cambridge Central School, in Cambridge, New York. After high school he went to work at Oak Industries, and then went to work for Saint-Gobain which was previously owned by other companies.

He was a member of the Bennington Elks Lodge for many years.

When he was younger, he loved bowling, fishing, and spending time with his family. He always loved going to Lebanon Valley and spending vacations at Lake St. Catherine. In his later years, he loved to watch the Mets and the Jets, and always enjoyed visiting with his kids and grandkids.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his father, Edward Walizer, both grandmothers and grandfathers, his uncles, Jim, Clarence, and Joe Rhodes.

He is survived by his two children, Joshua and his wife Michelle Young of Grand Rapids, MI, Amanda and her husband Tim Marcoux of Bennington, VT; four grandchildren, Casey Harrington, Kaylyn Marcoux, Brayden Marcoux and Jordyn Marcoux; three siblings, Dawn Walizer, Darlene Shewell and Clint Walizer, and many nieces and nephews.

The one thing that everyone knew about Rick was, he loved his kids, grandkids, and family.
