Edwin Telfer Mook Jr.
Saratoga Springs, Edwin Telfer Mook, Jr, 80, died peacefully, with his daughter Linda by his side, on Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Isle of Watermere in Southlake, Texas. He had moved to Texas this past October to be cared for by his daughter.Born January 14, 1933 in Plainfield, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Edwin T. Mook, Sr. and Elberta Deshlar (Schenck) Mook. Ed was eleven years old when his parents bought a dairy farm near Cambridge, New York, known as Lauderdale Farm.
In 1951, he graduated from Cambridge Central School. He served in the United States Navy from 1953 to 1957, serving his country both stateside and abroad.
He spent his career working at General Electric and Honeywell.
Ed was an avid bowler, a master gardener through Cornell co-operative extension, and enjoyed fishing and boating on Lake Lauderdale.
Two siblings, James R. Mook and Joanne E. Schnell, predecease him.
Survivors include three children, Linda M. Grande and husband Willard J. Grande of Trophy Club, TX; Michael E. Mook and wife Elizabeth Mook of Arlington, Virginia; Charlene L. Keator and husband Kyle Keator of Marysville, Ohio; 6 grandchildren; a brother Wesley L. Mook and wife Anne of Bennington, VT and several nieces, nephews and their families.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 11 AM to 12 PM at Ackley & Ross Funeral Home, 73 West Main Street, Cambridge.
A funeral service will start at noon
A 1:30 PM burial, with military honors, will follow at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY.
