Michael L. Gibbons

Cambridge-Michael L. Gibbons, 65, of Cambridge, passed away peacefully Saturday night, May 28, 2016 in the comfort of his home under the care of his family and hospice.

Michael was born October 26, 1950 in Cambridge and was the son of the late Leon Gibbons and Marion Motsiff Galbraith. He was a 1969 graduate of Cambridge Central School.

Michael worked for Carpenter’s Union #279 in Albany as a carpenter working in several areas and prior to retiring in 2013, he worked at NYRA in Saratoga Springs for 10 years.

He was a member of the Cambridge United Presbyterian Church and also the Captain Maxson Post 634 American Legion in Cambridge.

Michael is survived by his wife of twenty-one years, Robin Bryant Gibbons; his three children, Judith (Sergio) Avila of Spokane, WA, Logan Gibbons and Bryant Gibbons, both of Cambridge. He is also survived by a sister, Judy Jones of Glens Falls; four grandchildren, Serjio, Bella, Sophie and Violet Avila as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services with military honors will be held at 9:00 am on Friday, June 3, 2016 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville. There will be a reception following the service at the American Legion Post and everyone is cordially invited to attend.
