Michael D. English

CAMBRIDGE — Michael D. English, 27, of Cambridge, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017 at the Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs, following a long illness with Muscular Dystrophy.

Michael was born May 2, 1990 in Cambridge and is the son of David and Bonnie (Bailey) English of Cambridge.

 

He was a 2008 graduate of Cambridge Central School and attended CWI in Glens Falls for four years following high school.

Michael loved playing his video games on his Play Station 4. He also enjoyed drawing, going to the movies and eating. He was a big superheroes fan, especially Superman. Michael traveled to many places when he was younger, having gone to St. Croix, Virgin Islands with his grandparents; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Las Vegas, Nevada; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; San Diego and Long Beach, California. When Michael was younger, Make-A-Wish sent him to Disney World in Florida.

While he was at Wesley, Michael and his mother would go to Congress Park to feed the ducks, which he looked forward to doing each week. He also attended the Men’s Group at Wesley.

Michael was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Janet English; paternal great grandparents, William and Yolanda English; maternal great grandparents, Worden and Eleanor Lewis; and an uncle, Daniel Bailey.

In addition to his parents, David & Bonnie, Michael is survived by a sister, Amanda English (fiancé Josh Stover) of Hampstead, North Carolina; paternal grandfather, William English of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; maternal grandmother, Harriet Smith of Battenville; maternal grandfather, James Bailey of Granville; uncles, William English (Mike Haverly) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and James (Kelly) Bailey of Knoxville, Tennessee; aunt, Deborah English (fiancé Don Koenig) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and many cousins.

Calling hours will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at the Cambridge Methodist Church, 41 East Main St., Cambridge.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 16, at the Cambridge Methodist Church with Rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating.

 

Interment will be at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge.
