Margaret Peabody Kennedy

HUDSON FALLS — Margaret Ann Kennedy, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2018 at Albany Medical Center.

Born Nov. 24, 1935 in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Jennie (Hatch) Peabody of Cambridge.

Margaret graduated from Cambridge High School and soon after married Cornelius John Kennedy. Together they started the Circle K Ranch in Hudson Falls, where they operated a horse auction barn and tack store. Margaret later went on to work at CR Bard in Queensbury until her retirement.

Margaret, who was known affectionately as “Nan” by all the grandchildren who she adored, was a strong willed, hard working woman who raised eight children. Her work ethic and unconditional love is something that will be sorely missed. She was a feisty, tough, and kind person who we were all blessed to have in our lives. Over the years, her home was a place family and friends loved to visit and spend time. She was the “Queen” and everyone knew her way was the right way. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and those visits will be missed by all.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Evelyn Annis and Shirley McClain; brothers, James Peabody and Thomas Peabody; and daughter, Karen Welcome.

She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Kennedy (Steve Arnold), Sheila Kennedy (Ralph Strong), Patricia Kennedy (John Potvin), Debra Stemp (Matt), and Stacey Kennedy; sons, John Kennedy, Bill Kennedy (Krista) and son- in- law, Doug Welcome. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ed Cardinale, Jennifer Werner, Sarah Arnold, Emily Fabain, Rolland Vadnais, Jason Vadnais, Eric Vadnais, Nick Welcome, Brittany Columbetti, John Kennedy, Jamie Kennedy, Korey Kennedy, Kyle Kennedy, Ryan Kennedy, Hannah Kennedy, Carly Kennedy and Lauren Tyler; and several great-grandchildren. Margaret is also survived by siblings, Mary McMahon, Norma Abbott, Lee Peabody and sister-in-law, Beverly Kinns.
