Kevin Button

Kevin Button: 62, died peacefully at home after a long illness surrounded by his loving family. He resided there with his beloved wife Robin of 41 years and his oldest granddaughter Alyssa.

Kevin graduated from Cambridge Central School in June of 1978. During his junior and high school years, “Butts” excelled in the sports of basketball and football. He also attended BOCES in Hudson Falls NY where he learned skills leading to a rewarding career. After graduation, he worked for several years at Blue Flame Gas Company of Hoosick Falls, NY. He then went on to work for the NYS Highway Department in Rensselaer County.

Kevin’s special pride and joy were his grandchildren. He also continued to play softball for the Bennington and Arlington Vermont Men’s league in the summers for several years where he wore the #13 on his team. Now proudly wearing the #13 in honor of their grandfather while playing softball games are his granddaughters Natalie and Hailey of Dayton, Ohio.

Kevin’s hobbies also included bowling at the Barbecue Bowling Alley in Hoosick Falls, NY. He was awarded a significant number of 300 rings as a result of his expertise in bowling. He also loved dirt racing at local tracks and spent a few years as part of the Kenny Tremont Race Team at Lebanon Valley.

Kevin significantly influenced his grandchildren: his grandson Dakota of Dayton Ohio, now has a love of cars and dirt racing as well. His granddaughter Alyssa of Hoosick NY has a love for stockcar racing and played an important part in providing care and support for him at their home. His grandson Joshua of Bennington Vermont enjoys the dirt races and made a commitment to attend the races to honor him.

“Butts” possessed an unparalleled sense of humor. When asked what he was looking at, with a sly grin, he would just say “Not Much!”

“Butts” and his family had a deep appreciation for many of the caregivers along his journey. In particular was his nurse Shannon “from the Eddy”.
