JAMES "JIM" EDDY

Milton James “Jim” Eddy, 68, of Orange City, Florida, passed away April 27, 2015, at The University of Florida Health, Gainsville, Florida.

Jim was born April 23, 1947, in Bennington, Vermont, to Alretta Mae Barber and Ernest G. Eddy, both now deceased.

He grew up in the Cambridge, New York, area and graduated from Cambridge Central School in 1965. He was anticipating coming back to Cambridge for his 50th class reunion.

He joined the military and served during the Vietnam era in a medical unit as an X-ray technician. Later, he became a member of American Legion Post No. 634 Cambridge, and a veteran of the U.S. Army of the Vermont National Guard for 21 years.

He moved to Florida in the ’80s to be near his parents and remained there until his death. While living there, he worked in the X-ray department of an area hospital.

Jim was a kind person with many friends. He loved to bake and would often surprise his neighbors with some of his homemade specialties.

Jim is survived by three brothers and their spouses: Gerald (Kathy) of Winooski, Vermont, Nelson (Sally) of Cambridge and Richard (Sandy) of Little River, South Carolina. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Graveside services will be held in Woodlands Cemetery, Cambridge, New York, at a later date to be determined in June.
