Sheila Esther (Hunt) Dingman

SOUTH GLENS FALLS — Sheila Esther (Hunt) Dingman, 67, passed away Wednesday, May 28, following a courageous battle with leukemia.

Sheila was born Jan. 25, 1947, in Bennington, Vermont; she was the daughter of the late Edward Hunt and Frances (Mattson) Hunt.

As a child, she attended the one-room schoolhouse in Eagle Bridge, then continued on and graduated from Cambridge Central School in 1965. After graduating high school, she entered the nursing program at Mary McClellan School of Nursing in Cambridge, where she became an LPN.

She very much enjoyed nursing and helping others.

On July 2, 1982, she married Frank Dingman III. Sheila’s true joys in life were spending time with her family, gardening and fishing. She truly loved fishing. Sheila was a wonderful wife, mother and friend and will be missed by many.

Survivors in her family include her loving husband of 31 years, Frank Dingman III; her five children, Daniel Bromley Jr. and his wife, Syndi, Heather Bromley-Ballard and her husband, Kirk, Heath Bromley, James Dingman and Susan Dingman-Strayer; her grandchildren, Hannah Bromley, Ellyssa Cote, Elise, Sage, Jory and Pheobe Ballard, Asa Bromley and Caleb and Caden Strayer; her brother, Willis Hunt and his wife, Barb; and her sister, Linda (Hunt) Mosher and her husband, Dave; along with several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Regan Denny Stafford Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. before the service.

Burial will be at the discretion of the family at a later date.
