Frances M. Poole, 89, passed away Monday, Oct. 2, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her family.

Born Aug. 7, 1928 in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late George and Edna (Beattie) McClellan.

She graduated from Cambridge High School, Class of 1946

Frances retired as a cook at the South Glens Falls Senior High School.

In 1951, Frances married the love of her life, George Poole.

She enjoyed bowling, square dancing and volunteering at her church.

Frances was a member of the South Glens Falls United Methodist Church since 1960, the bereavement committee at the church, bowling league and Merry Mohicans Square Dance Club.

In addition to her parents, Frances was predeceased by her husband, George Poole.

Left to cherish her memory include her children, Gordon Poole of South Glens Falls, Brian Poole and his wife, Patti of Sacramento, California, Bruce Poole and his wife, Wendy of South Glens Falls and Leanne Celeste of Hudson, Massachusetts; sister, Florence Steen and her husband, John of Bloomingdale; 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Frances’s life will be held on Saturday, Oct., 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the South Glens Falls United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 15 Maplewood Parkway, South Glens Falls.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
