Donna Sprague Decker

BENNINGTON - Donna M. Sprague, 67, died Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Crescent Manor Care Center in Bennington.
She was born Jan. 9, 1950, in Bennington, the daughter of Carleton and Doris (Eddy) Sprague
.
She received her education in Cambridge, New York, schools and graduated from Johnson State College in Vermont, with a degree in native American history and culture.
Ms. Sprague was employed at The First Baptist Church in Bennington, St. James Episcopal Church in Arlington and Community College of Vermont, Bennington campus.

She was a volunteer for PAVE and Big Brothers and Big Sisters in Bennington.

She attended First Congregational Church in Williamstown, Massachusetts.

Ms. Sprague enjoyed reading, writing, and published two children's books, The Creeping Turtle and The Mighty Pine.

Survivors include a brother, Carleton Sprague II, of Bennington, a cousin, aunts, uncles and two nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, JoAnne Harrington.

The graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, in Center White Creek Cemetery in White Creek. New York.  There are no calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation or Second Chance Animal Shelter and left at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
