JACKSON — The Jackson town justice died Thursday after a farming accident.
Justice Carl M. Ackley ran a farm with beef cattle, which were being brought in Wednesday for sale. Cattle are not as docile as dairy cows, which are handled daily. One of the cattle bolted and Ackley ended up falling and hitting his head.
He was rushed to the hospital, where he died Thursday.
