William "Bill" Wulff

WATERFORD — William H. Wulff, 80, of 2nd Street, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2017 at Samaritan Hospital

.

Born in White Creek, he was the son of the late Henry and Elizabeth Paddock Wulff. He was educated in Cambridge Central Schools, Class of 1958.

Bill retired from the Town of Halfmoon Highway Department in February of 2001, after 31 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served from 1959 to 1964. He was a 60-plus-year member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, moving through the ranks until he became General Commanding of the Patriarchs Militant of the World. He was a charter member of the Cambridge Valley Rescue Squad, a member of the Tri-State Emergency Team, an EMT and a frequent blood donor. March 15, 2003 was declared William Wulff Day in the village of Waterford.

 

Bill married his late wife, Beverly McGarry Wulff, on Oct. 24, 1969. She passed away on June 14, 2002. He is the proud father of Erick W. Wulff, Aaron H. Wulff and Vanessa E. Gleason (Darrin), all of Waterford, Joy-Anna H. Wulff of Cohoes and Karen D. Coffrin (Kevin) of Brunswick. He is the brother of Vera Noxon of Rome, Carl F. Wulff of Gansevoort, the late Sarajane Wasalewski, T. Richard Wulff and Violet E. Clous. His six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Route 32), Waterford.

Interment with military honors will be in Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge.

 

Relatives and friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at the funeral home.
