Beverly Lufkin Halsdorf
 

 Stokesdale, NC-Beverly Jean Lufkin Halsdorf, 80, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.

A native of Cambridge, NY, Beverly was born on March 18, 1938, the daughter of the late Roland E. and Dorothy Dunbar Lufkin. Beverly attended Cambridge Central High School and Mildred Elley College in Albany. After moving to North Carolina, she was employed as a bookkeeper at GasTown for 14 years and then worked as hostess at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store before retiring with 22 years service. She was preceded in death by her husband, William George Halsdorf, a Pearl Harbor survivor, and maintained a lifetime membership in VFW Post 7062, Ladies Auxiliary, in Altamont, New York. She especially enjoyed attending shows at the Barn Dinner Theatre.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Veronica Halsdorf, grandson David Terrell, and granddaughter Rebecca England.

Surviving are children Beverly Moore of NC, William G. Halsdorf, Jr. of Latham, NY, Bruce Halsdorf (Wendy) of Altamont, NY, Marguerita England (fiancé Mike Michaux) of Stokesdale, Marge Abdella (Jeff Carrow) of Rotterdam, NY, and Nancy Avoli (Jeremy) of Harwick, Pa.; sister Linda Taylor (Tim) of Greenwich, NY; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and special friends Linda and Randy Tyson, Donna Norwood, Eddie and Sonya Pegram and Linda Carter; as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews.

There will be a viewing at 1 p.m.  prior to going to the cemetery. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday in the Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge, NY.
