Lake George - Ann McLenithan Mantz, 86, of Lake George, previously of Cambridge, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born in Cambridge, NY, on November 23, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Minerva (Weaver) Williams.
A graduate of Cambridge Central School, Ann dedicated much of her life to her work and family. She worked as a Secretary at the Cambridge Valley Livestock Market, and later as a Medical Secretary for Doctors Romack, Rice, and Villafuerte at the Mary McClellan Hospital. Ann's career continued with her role as a secretary for Doctor Arnold Wise in Coila until her retirement. Her attention to detail and commitment to her work were admired by those who knew her.
Ann was an active member of the Cambridge United Presbyterian Church, where she served as Treasurer. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, contributing to the life of her community. Ann had a deep love for the arts and spent much of her free time painting floral art, playing the piano, and expressing her creativity. Her passions also extended to gardening, knitting, and crocheting. Ann found joy in traveling, often visiting the ocean at Rye Beach in New Hampshire, and relished her time at her father’s camp in South Hollow in Ash Grove. Her fondness for camping at Emerald Lake in Vermont added to the many beautiful memories she created with family and friends.
Above all, Ann treasured her time with her children and grandchildren. Her love for her family was boundless, and she took great pride in the accomplishments and happiness of those closest to her.
Ann was united in marriage to William Mantz on May 23, 1999, who survives. She is also survived by her children, Kim (Drew) Haskell and Todd (Suanne) McLenithan of Cambridge; two step-daughters, Karma and Heather Mantz of Glens Falls; a daughter-in-law, Valeda McLenithan of Shushan; a sister, Mary (Ray) Purdy of Queensbury and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ann was predeceased by her first husband, Irving “Baldy” McLenithan, who passed away on June 23, 1987; her sons, Kyle McLenithan, who passed away on June 29, 2006 and Glenn “Buzzy” McLenithan, who passed away on July 26, 2011; her siblings, Theodore “Bud” Williams and Jane Portwine.
A calling hour will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm at the Cambridge United Presbyterian Church, 81 East Main St., Cambridge, with Rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge.
