Dear CCS Alumni and Friends, this newsletter is a little sparse because nothing is going on in the lives of our readers that they wish to share with us. Now, now, I am poking fun at you so don’t get defensive.  I do appreciate those who have written to me and I really appreciate Betty and Glen White sending in pictures of their Fall decorations.  They are posted in the Seasons: Fall section of the website. http://ccsindians.com/Seasons/index.htm

There are 252 days left until The 13th All Classes Reunion, starting July 14, 2017.

I am reprinting this from June Johnson Lawrence, Class of '61, because I failed to put the pictures on our website. Pictures are now in the section SEASONS: Summer http://ccsindians.com/Seasons/Summer/summerpage2.htm

I enjoy the reunion every year I get the chance to go but this year was pretty special.  My brother, Thure, actually came from California, after not having been east in 10 years, and stayed for two weeks.  We spent every day together, doing whatever, taking road trips wherever, visiting family, and enjoying each other's company.  I think I can speak for Thure when I also say that we are eternally grateful for the friendship of the Lentzes who have given us their home to stay in and their cars to drive while there.  I enjoyed seeing friends at the reunion on Saturday and Sunday morning breakfast.  After the reunion weekend, we were able to enjoy lunch with other alumni (some were at the reunion and some were not at the actual reunion).

Thank you so much, Alumni Committee, for all you do in the preparation for the event every year.  What a great "excuse" to come "home" often to the greatest area to grow up.

MaryLee Kent Class of 1958
This picture (CLICK HERE) never saw the light of day - apparently stayed in someone's camera til recently. There is an official one taken by Tom McMorris, of course, but the cast of characters is somewhat different as this was taken at the Class of 1958 Brunch at Mook's camp.

I can't fully identify, believe it or not, might need some help.

Laurelyn Langer Wichgers Class of 1966, has a new granddaughter, Alaina Marie Wichgers, born Oct.2nd.

Jim Maxwell, Class of  1966, sent me this report about his home in the Bahamas after “Matthew” blew through.

It was a very bad hurricane, cat 4, with sustained winds of 148 mph and gusts to 160 mph.  They closed the airport on Wednesday so I couldn't get out until after the hurricane on Saturday, and then it took me two days to get to Cambridge.  I am here for the week because my school has midterm break.

I had to evacuate my apartment and move inland to a friend's house.  The island is only 7 miles wide and very flat. Nassau looks like a war zone.  Trees and power lines are down.  Some roofs are blow off.  The pier for the oil tanks is gone.  Power was off for a week which meant now water, cable, internet, air conditioning, nothing. Many of my friends had damage to their homes but no one was hurt.  My apartment made it through the hurricane with no major damage.

Hurricanes are "The Other Side of Paradise".

Laurelyn Langer Wichgers, Class of 1966
. I still have a watercolor picture that I did in his class!

John Davis, Class of 1965. He put up with sooo much from me at CCS. God bless, Mr. Dawson. He was a good man.

Naomi Marsh, Class of 1965. Mr. Dawson played violin at the back of Temple Beth El in Bennington for four hours as we awaited the rabbi to arrive for my wedding ceremony!  He did it without asking and with complete peace and joy!!!

I will never forget that or him…
