Oliver Perry, Class of 1959
When we got home from NYS last night I pulled out an old VHS video that I took at the Dome in 2005. I don’t believe it was ever watched by anyone, including me. I really wish I had done something with it before Ivan and Dick passed away.

It should be dedicated to the memory of Ivan Purdy, who directed many of the interviews. Dick Record kept his thoughts brief. Mrs Tully is pictured as well as many others in the Cambridge stands. Dan Severson is interviewed pre- game as are a few of the other coaches.  (including John Tully )

It is an appropriate time to make it available. I think a lot of people might enjoy seeing this since we are going to the Dome again. The players and their parents might even be inspired by it.

There is a lot of game footage at the end. No parades because we lost to Randolph.

Couldn't help but notice that the Indians varsity football team now has a female place kicker. Reminds us of Eve Baxter in Last Man Standing a couple of seasons ago!  So who doesn't watch this ABC Friday night sitcom, Tim Allen's latest incarnation?  20 years since Home Improvement, he now has 3 daughters rather than 3 sons!
With the recent passing of Mr. Dawson, our art teacher - may he rest in peace - I'm reminded that the staff of the 1964 Chieftain Yearbook, yours truly included, was fast asleep at the wheel in one regard: Who/what is a chieftain? A leader of Indians, natch.  Scan the '64 book and you'll find paltry evidence, photos, artwork, of the Native American, a mere two in fact if memory serves me: 1) the cheerleaders in their Indian maiden garb (And 2) the brand new artwork by Mr. Dawson at center court on the then brand new gymnasium floor.  Some may recall that the '63-64 varsity basketball team played all its home games in the old gym, except the last one when we inaugurated the new court in March '64, with its glass backboards for the very first time.  (BTW, the Hossmen had won the Monday Night League - intramural - beat the Bears, a few weeks earlier in the old gym, with those wooden backboards. Threw up my share of bricks, clunk!)
