Dear CCS Alumni and Friends, it seems that instead of asking for news, I should ask for questions.  We had good response to Jeff Ashworth’s , Class of 1967, question about the large yellow brick chimney so let’s find something else we can “research”.  You can mention a memory and see if anyone wants to add to it

There are 56 days left until The 13th All Classes Reunion, starting July 14, 2017.

Jane Falkenbury Wright, Class of 1957

I’m thinking about our 60th (!)(!)(!) Reunion, I have planned a little trip down memory lane. To take this trip, our class members and their spouses, or drivers, or significant others need to meet at the Legion on July15th at 12:30.  We will carpool and take this little trip. We should be back to the Legion no later than 2:00 where we can visit with each other and/or with other alumni. Be sure to sign up for the whole reunion.  The meal is always good; thanks to the Legion Auxiliary and it is a fun day.

I am not at liberty to divulge where we are going, but I think you will enjoy the surprise.

 Johnny McCarty, class of 1966...

Reading with great pleasure about the Asgrow chimney at the old seed plant....

Glad I didn't post earlier, because the current posts helped my memory... ha....

Just saw the post from George Virtue and that was my recollection also...

But, not down so far south on the property.... but, rather, up in the office area....

When I was in college, I worked at the Asgrow seed plant, during the summers and during winter break...

On occasion, when the night watchman (name i do not remember) was on vacation... they would get the kids... us, to fill in... and I would..$$$$$$$$

Our job was to patrol the property, make sure everything was ok, check the bridge for underage kids drinking....

Yea, right....maybe catch a few and partake....

Check in at all the watchman check points... and......

empty all the trash bins in the office..... and you guessed it......

burn it.... in the furnace.... so, George, we did the same thing up near the office....

and, if Jeff or Ken are at the reunion this summer, I’ll tell you the rest of the story...

Thanks for the memories......

 Elaine and Bob Brown

Greetings CCS classmates from 1971 and 1972,

Bob and I would like to invite you to a reunion get together at our Shushan home on July 15, 2017 immediately following the all class union that is being held at the Cambridge American Legion that same afternoon.  The CCS Alumni committee has worked hard the last 13 years to host the annual event and would appreciate our support to continue its success.  Registration forms for the alumni picnic and golf outing can be found on their website:  www.ccsindains.com  .

Our social will begin at approximately 5:30 and end whenever the bonfire goes out.  We will provide light snacks, beer and wine.    We would welcome those who live local to provide a dish to share.  To assist in our planning we would appreciate your RSVP by June 30th.   We would also appreciate your assistance in spreading the word as we have no contact information for many of our classmates.

On a Personal note.  Yesterday I again posted on Facebook an aerial picture of Cambridge, originally posted by Keith Altarac,  It is a beautiful picture and lots of people always comment on the beauty of our hometown.  67 people have so far clicked the “LIKE” button. Dolores Skiff Grover and Wilma Bassett Horton, both from the Class of 1958, proudly proclaimed that they were and always will be “ Cambridge Girls.  Karen Dusha McKean along with several others often say…Once a CCS cheerleader, always a CCS cheerleader.

How fortunate, some say, but I say it is by the Grace of God that we were blessed enough to have been raised in such a beautiful place.  Of course, when we were growing up, it was just the place where we happened to live.  Some were so very anxious to get out of “this one horse town” and they did just that.  Some chose to stay and work hard to make sure we had a Cambridge to come back to when we finally decided to return.

For the past 13 years I have been blessed enough to be able to return to Cambridge for 10 days in July.  I look forward to that visit every year and get excited like a kid waiting for Christmas.  I love going back for the All Classes Reunion Weekend to see old classmates and friends.  I am so glad that all the classes get together so I can renew acquaintances with those who where in my sisters’ classes or in classes ahead of me and behind me. It is always good to see them again.

I really hope that you will start feeling a little nostalgic, maybe a little homesick, or just curious and will decide to attend the 13th All Classes Reunion starting in 56 days.  I know I would love to see you there!!!
