Dear CCS Alumni and Friends, hope 2016 has started out good for you.  I am trying to think of a new “assignment” to get input to the newsletter but I am at a loss.  Maybe your assignment should be…. Suggest an assignment to encourage submissions to the newsletter.  I will put them in the next newsletter and people can decide what they would like to participate in.

All you have to do is click on REPLY, put your full name, class year and where you are living now and then give your suggestion.

Want to make an anonymous comment in the newsletter?  Yes, it can be done.  I will withhold your name if you want…however, you have to identify yourself to me and it has to be a constructive comment.  I will NOT reveal your identity.

Thanks to Jack Shay, Class of 1956 for his picture for the Seasons: Winter, page!!! Hope more will send in pictures.  PLEASE, give a description of your picture (where and when it was taken, what we are looking at) and also put your full name, class year and  where you are living now

Brian Canzeri ('85),Cindy Dunn Labish ('65), Kathy Dunn Nygard ('61), Bob Nygard ('61) enjoyed time in Pasadena for many activities leading up to Rose Bowl Parade & watching Brian's son Jordan (#33) play in Rose Bowl for Iowa.  We all are extremely proud of Jordan for his accomplishments both on & off the field during his years at Iowa

Today, Jan. 14th, is my birthday, so I dug out an old birthday Thought it might be of some interest to other baby boomers from CCS. Dr. Philip Harff was the family doctor and delivery man, and Alice Ashton (the oldtimers will CERTAINLY remember her as school nurse) was one of the attending nurses.  Happy 2016,
THIS IS REALLY VERY INTERESTING TO READ…PLEASE CHECK IT OUT IN OUR SCRAPBOOK PAGE 46

Looking at Kirk Spurr's photo of the Army presentation it occurred to me that there must have been a great demand for hinge tubes during WWII.

They must have been used to pour doors and hatches on tanks and ships that were being built by the thousands. This would be one of a number of contributions Cambridge made to the war effort along with the bags of milk weed pods we second graders collected to fill life preservers.

A MESSAGE FROM THE CCS ALUMNI COMMITTEE

The CCS Alumni Association’s next planning meeting for the 2016 All-Classes Reunion will be on March 18 at 10 am in the Cambridge American Legion Building.

          The 2016 reunion weekend is July 15, 16, 17.

The committee is seeking ideas and people to help with one time assignments, such as a Friday night gathering event on July 15 after the alumni golf tournament.

The committee would welcome any age alumni to assist with the planning, ideas and helping on the weekend for this special annual event.  Last year almost 300 alumni and guests attended the Saturday party.

The reunion is a varied weekend.  The alumni golf tournament, under the direction of Michael Baratto, is held during the day on Friday, July 15.  Later that day there is an evening alumni gathering.  Saturday morning’s there are one or two choice activities.  From 1 pm to 6 pm there is the Legion pole barn gathering for reminiscing, appetizers, class pictures, and a meal.  Then to conclude the weekend there is the Sunday morning breakfast prepared by the Legion staff.

We request that you consider attending the March 18th meeting to share ideas, plan and help your alumni reunion committee

Thank you, Linda Record, CCS Alumni Committee President

Hope to hear from you soon,

Pauline
