Dear CCS Alumni and Friends, the 12th Annual All Classes Reunion has come and gone. It was a wonderful weekend!!!! Over 270 alumni attended and I don’t think anyone was disappointed. I spent 11 glorious days in Cambridge and enjoyed every minute of it, especially the wonderful temperatures. Now that I have returned to the heat and humidity of Mississippi, it is taking me a while to get my get up and go back. I am trying to work on getting the pictures on line but it is slow go with Frontiernet, my internet provider. I uploaded 5 pictures and it took an hour!!!!!!! I have a few hundred to go!! I am going to wait until I can get a morning to spend at my son’s house and try using his internet service. I have the disc of pictures that Tom McMorris so graciously gave me to get on line also. My camera malfunctioned, (Murphy’s Law) and putting together the Scramble pictures and videos has been a minor nightmare. However, it will all come together…just be patient with me. Congratulations to the Scramble team of Anne Theissen ‘60, Kathy Dunn Nygard ‘61, Don Vitello ‘60 and Bob Nygard ‘61for winning the Scramble this year. Also a BIG SHOUT OUT to Matt Pender ‘76 for his hole in one!!!!
Mike Baratto,
Class of 1962, Since the beginning of the All Classes Reunion Weekend 12 years ago, Mike has headed up the Annual Orange and Black Scramble. He has done a wonderful job in creating an event that all the golfers have looked forward to each year. The first year he had a plaque made for the Scramble winners and each year the names of the winners have been placed on the plaque. There was just enough space for 12 years of winners. So, with the completion of the plaque, Mike decided it was time for him to step down and pass the torch to someone else. AND HE HAS!!! The torch will now be carried by Don Catellier and Matt Pender, both from the Class of 1976 Mike, we all knew it would take 2 “youngsters” to replace you!!!!! Thank you for your years of dedication to this event. We will miss you and wish you the very best.

Hi Pauline I am Linda Grunthaner Baxter, Class of 1972. My siblings and I all settled in Texas after my parents moved down this way in 1975 because my father was disabled and couldn't take another New York winter. I married a Texan, Gene Baxter, so that after working on my accent on can pass as a full fledge Texan-except when I slip and say you guys instead of y'all.. I retired from the USDA a few years back and my husband just retired from teaching last year, but we find that between visiting grandchildren, working with Habitat for Humanity, and being on our HOA board and the other volunteer things we haven't figured out how to say no to, we don't have much spare time. We have a visit back to Cambridge on our bucket list, though so maybe next reunion.... Thanks for all you do to keep us up to date on Cambridge and our old school friends. My sister asked me to send this in for her: Dorothy Grunthaner, Class of 1976: Hello Classmates. This is Dorothy Grunthaner, alias Dash. When I was a Junior, my family moved to Texas because of my Dad's health. Now I live in New Boston, TX. have been fighting Multiple Sclerosis for 36 years and I will win! I live in my Mom's house now. If anyone happens to be coming down on I30 past Texarkana, TX look for the New Boston exit and come visit with me. My phone number is 903-628-6073 and my address is 202 NW Front St., New Boston, TX 75570. Let everyone know I am still alive! It would be nice to hear from you. Sincerely Dash Mary Bates Muckle'59 Has anyone heard from Barbara Hart and where she is today? I remember her as being the most beautiful girl in her class and a great dancer!
I personally want to thank Cousin Raz Macauley and wife Pam for their hospitality and for keeping “my room” for me each year. Also for the breakfast’s at Bensons with Sharron and Albie Messina and the ice cream at Benson’s Dairy Bar. Thanks to June Bell for great lunch at Jacko’s in Salem and to Nelson and June for a WONDERFUL pizza dinner at June’s son Kevin’s Marigold’s Kitchen in North Bennington. You really need to experience that place! This is NOT your regular pizza…it is unique and delicious!!!!!! Thanks also to Linda Finning Kelley and Lari Ann Finning Hayes for the “In Memory of Mary Ella” lunch in Bennington. I will always treasure my Willow Tree statue. Of course, a really big thank you to the CCS Alumni Committee for the plane ticket to Cambridge. I do appreciate your generosity. HOW
DID YOU LIKE THE REUNION WEEKEND?
I am hoping you will let me know but emailing me so I can share it
with the readers of this newsletter Until next time, Pauline
