FROM  KEN GOTTRY

HELP SAVE OUR COMMUNITY GARDEN
We are hoping to win a $10,000 grant from Seeds of Change, but we need your votes to do it.

The Cambridge Community Garden is located in the old Asgrow Experimental Garden on the east side of Washington Street (old photo attached). The Garden has lost access to a neighbor’s water spigot, threatening the viability of the garden. With this grant we will install an irrigation system to sustain individual/family plots and common fruit and herb plots.

Here's how you can help
go to
https://www.seedsofchangegrant.com/TheGallery.aspx
In the middle of the screen in the search box, type CAMBRIDGE (don't put ",NY") Only our garden will appear
Follow the directions and cast your vote. You can vote once every 24 hours until 19-Apr-2017

It's fun to watch the CCS 4th, 5th, and 6th graders hiked through the village on their way to the Garden where they help take care of the plots. I'd hate to lose that experience for the kids

Sandy Pratt Zerrillo, Class of 1979 and Honorary Senior State President N.Y.S.S.C.A.R. was honored by the National Society Sons of the American Revolution at the 98th Annual State Conference of the NYS Children of the American Revolution that was held in Syracuse, New York. The Martha Washington Medal was presented by Duane Booth, President and Past President, and LTC. Peter K. Goebel (Ret.), Past President of the Empire State SAR. This medal was authorized in 1971 and may be presented to a woman over 18 years of age in recognition of outstanding service to SAR. It is the highest award that the SAR can present to a non-SAR member.

Receiving this award was such a surprise to me. I have been active in DAR and C.A.R. for over 15 years and have served in many capacities at the state and local levels in both organizations. Even though I don't live in the Cambridge area any longer, I have such fond memories of growing up there. My memories of attending CCS are priceless to me!    I hope everyone is doing well and my mom, Mrs. Lorraine Pratt, who worked as a teacher aide for 30 years says to say "hello" too. Happy Easter.

ANOTHER CONTEST!  AMERICA’S MAIN STREET CONTEST
Please vote for the Village of Cambridge, NY for the Independent We Stand “ America’s Main Streets” contest.  Help recognize the importance of this deserving Main Street by voting at
