My check and registration form has been sent in !   Bill Nygard, Class of 1960, are you going to make it to the reunion this year?

 Ken Gottry, Class of 1968

I scanned the Cambridge High School 1936 Clarion Yearbook (my mom's class) onto my website (http://www.gottry.com).  I noticed on the sports page that the 1935-36 boys basketball team "won their sectional tilt and returned from RPI with the Class D championship". Front row is Leo Kelly, Sam Stannard, Earl Herrington, Walter Moore (this is Sandy Moore who worked at Peter Clark's gas station,, right?), and Joe Canzeri on the end.

I sent the photo to Randy Hall, who married Joe's daughter, Gwen Canzeri. He asked what happened to the old trophies like the ones in the photo

Two questions for you "old-timers" ;- )

  1. Was there a trophy case in the Old School? Do you remember seeing trophies like the two being held in this photo? Were all of the trophies lost in the 1947 fire? Were the players allowed to keep the trophies? Might some of these old ones still be in someone's attic in the area?
  2. How were sports organized in the 30s, 40s, and 50s? Was there a league (I assume we played Granville and Argyle in our league since they are in our Alma mater). After the league finished, were there sectional games? Were we part of Section II? Were sectionals divided into classes? And the yearbook said after winning the sectional we went to RPI to win the Class D championship. Would that have been a state title? II seem to recall hearing that we played in Northeastern division. I think that was what it was called when our 1925 football team won it all. In 1925 we played Troy and Albany so it didn't sound like there were classes to divide schools by size.

(From Pauline….hmmmmmm , looks like more than 2 questions to me.)

Paul Austin, Class of 1964, Scarborough ME, soon to be Davis NC.
I plan to attend, as usual, I've always had a great time and have reconnected with so many friends that I hadn't seen for decades. I'd encourage everyone to make a special effort to attend; you never know who you'll connect with.

Best to all, Paul
"Lead, follow, or get out of the way."   Thomas Paine

Mary Lee Kent  Class of 1958.
Still don't know about the Reunion but might have to attend if only for the rare sight of Thure. That's right up there with Mickey (nevah happen!).

David Guile, Class of 1976
A few years ago I lost everything in a fire. If anybody knows where there is a class yearbook 1976 around I can have please let me know. You can email me at
birdman19555@yahoo.com or call 518-752-4066..

Thanks to everyone you took my special request from Jennie Paradis to heart and tried to help. I forwarded all the suggestions….without your name and email address to her.

She said she will keep me informed of any progress.

PLEASE NOTE: My computer will be going into the hospital on Monday, probably staying all week.  Although I have a tablet, my hospitalized computer is the only one with the license for my newsletter mailing program and access to editing the web site. Therefore, if any important news comes up, it will be posted on the CCS Alumni and Friends Facebook page.

Now go to the web site, print off the registration form and send it in with your check!!!!

Hope to hear from you soon
