April 25,2017

Dear CCS Alumni and Friends, There are 80 days left until The 13th All Classes Reunion, starting July 14, 2017!!!!  The Scramble is on Friday July 14th, the main reunion at the American Legion Pole Barn on Saturday, July 15th and the breakfast at the American Legion on Sunday July 16th.  The final schedule of events will be made final at the Alumni Committee meeting on May 5th.  As soon as it is made available to me, I will send it out to you and put it on the website.

I am of course, getting excited about traveling to Cambridge again this year.  I can never thank the Alumni Committee enough for the donation toward my trip!!! It is so very generous and I appreciate it more than you know.  I also appreciate my Cousin Raz and wife Pam Macauley for “my room and board” for the 10 days I will be in Cambridge.

Going back to Cambridge is something I have looked forward to each year for the past 13 years.  WOW!!!  It doesn’t seem possible that the Annual All Classes Reunion and Orange and Black Scramble have been going on for that long.  Congratulations to the Alumni Committee, the Scramble organizers and all those who work so hard to make the weekend a success.

I am hoping that those of you who have attended the reunions in the past will write a little blurb about why you enjoyed the reunions.  I love seeing old friends ….they have aged just like me!!!!  It is amazing how the years seem to melt away and we giggle and laugh like we were still teenagers.

During the past 13 years and through the newsletters, I have made friends with people in the classes before me and after me.  I look forward to the “annual traditions” that have been made: Lunches and get-togethers.  I love being in Cambridge…a respite from the Mississippi heat and humidity.

Also a yearly event for me is the emails that come in asking when the reunion will be, even though I put the countdown to July 14th in almost every newsletter and it is counting down on the website.  That tells me that some of you never read these newsletters but that is ok. :-)

Elaine and Bob Brown

Greetings CCS classmates from 1971 and 1972,

Bob and I would like to invite you to a reunion get together at our Shushan home on July 15, 2017 immediately following the all class union that is being held at the Cambridge American Legion that same afternoon.  The CCS Alumni committee has worked hard the last 13 years to host the annual event and would appreciate our support to continue its success.  Registration forms for the alumni picnic and golf outing can be found on their website:  www.ccsindains.com  .

Our social will begin at approximately 5:30 and end whenever the bonfire goes out.  We will provide light snacks, beer and wine.    We would welcome those who live local to provide a dish to share.  To assist in our planning we would appreciate your RSVP by June 30th.   We would also appreciate your assistance in spreading the word as we have no contact information for many of our classmates.

Frank Smith Class of 76,

Joy and I have spent the last couple months in Key West. We're heading back to Cambridge, but it must warm up before we get there. Sending picture of our first sunset in Key West on 9 Feb. anything after that is redundant since most look the same. (Picture is in the SEASONS: Winter 2016-2017) Right now we are at Sun-n-Fun 2017 in Lakeland, FL.

Look forward to the Scramble and seeing everyone throughout the summer.

Bob Inslerman, Class of 1963 Sent in a picture that is now on our Spring 2017 page: Spring in the Adirondack Mountains – a view of my driveway on April 1st, 2017, 1st day of trout season with about two feet of snow in the woods.

 Jeff Ashworth, Class of 1967
Several of us, including Ken Gottry, are looking for an answer. There was a large yellow brick chimney near the south end of Asgrow warehouse #9. Circa 1960, nothing was connected to it. It was demolished in the 1970's. What was it used for when it was in operation?

Bob Nygard, Class of 1961 sent in a picture of the Nygard brothers (Bill ’60, Bob ’61 and Steve ’68) You can see it on the Spring 2017 page.

I hope you will share your feelings about the All Classes Reunions or ANY news you may have.  I appreciate those who have sent in pictures for the Seasons pages.

 Until next time

God Bless You

Pauline
