Edward L. Oliver

Known to
most as
"Sparky,"
Edward L.
Oliver was a
member of
the CCS
Class of
1982. Ed
died August
2, 1991, of
ALS, Lou
Gehrig's
disease. For
many years
while a
student, Ed
was a
manager for
many CCS
sports teams
and
continued
volunteering
until he
died. In
recognition
of his
devotion to
CCS, a tree
was planted,
a flagpole
erected, a
year of CCS
basketball
was
dedicated to
him and
annually, a
football
player
receives the
"Sparky
Oliver
Memorial
Award." His
devotion to
CCS,
knowledge of
sports and
call for
fair play is
his legacy.
